from skysports:

Stunned officials confirmed Vaas' remarkable sequence was the first hat-trick off the opening three balls in a one-day international, and another record to add to the 28-year-old's growing list.

Its the turbanator versus the aussies again tonight

Ponting stats as in Herald Sun

In the 3 test match series 17 runs in 3 tests at an average of 3.4 runs an innings.

Tonights game should be a ripper as McGrath normally lifts for the big occassion games Image

ICC awards controversial World Cup match to Zimbabwe
Stephen Lamb - 15 February 2003

The International Cricket Council has ruled against switching England's World Cup match against Zimbabwe away from Harare.

The World Cup technical committee has awarded four points to Zimbabwe, deeming that effectively England have lost the game. The England and Wales Cricket Board must decide this morning whether to appeal against the decision.

The committee ruled that the venue was safe despite the team's security concerns.

"It's a decision that gives the committee no pleasure," said the ICC chief executive Malcolm Speed.

"I don't expect a quick resolution, not before May or June and certainly not before the end of the World Cup.

"An appeal would be the end of the process. If they (the ECB) wanted to bring it to a civil court they could do but that it is not something that concerns us."

ECB chief executive Tim Lamb said: "No decision has yet been made as to whether to lodge an appeal. This is a very important decision for us and we need to go and discuss this matter seriously."

The committee met yesterday afternoon to discuss the controversial fixture, which was originally scheduled to take place on February 13.

The match was called off by the ICC following weeks of wrangling with the ECB, who wanted to move the Group A game to South Africa because of safety concerns about playing in strife-torn Zimbabwe.

Today's decision means that England face a huge task to reach the second round of the tournament, after losing points from a match they were expected to win.

Australia have taken a slight risk by going into game with a top heavy batting line up. However with Sherwag, Ganguly and Dravid back in the pavillion maybe the plan will pay off. Personally i would have played Ian Harvey.

Singh has just been given out.....lol lol

Tendulkar however still remains Image

What an absolute pleasure to watch the Aussies in action!

At the start of the seventh over India were 1/41. 14 overs later they are 5/53!

Gillespie has 2/2 from 3. McGrath has 1/23 from 8 and Lee, 2/17 from 6. Tendulkar is 26 n.o.

Well the tour of New Zealand did India no favours. Worst possible lead up.

Gilesspie is a dead set legend. Gives it everything and is a superb bowler.

Didnt see the Tendulkar LBW. Was it a good decision ?

Its a pity that Indias batting isnt up to par at the moment. It would be a long time since they have made 250 in a one day match. Im thinking at least 8 matches ago...

Lowest total by India in a World Cup.

Demolition.

Gillespie, Lee and McGrath, superb! Symonds, Hogg and Lehmann did the rest.

Excellent bowling display. I thought dizzy's spell was magnificent. Hopefully Matt and Gilly can get us off to a flyer when we bat.

Dizzy is the most under rated bowler in world cricket. Most of the attention is on Warne and McGrath. The only thing that has held Gilesspie back has been injuries Image

I actually enjoy watching India bowl as Srinath and Khan are not the worst opening bowling combination. Singh and Kumble are useful bowlers as well. Pity they are defending such a small total.

The top order Indian batsman except for the little master should be ashamed of themselves.
