Rd 15 v Bendigo Bombers - Fixture Change

Post by The Collingwood Turtle »

VFL in its wonderful wisdom have moved this Saturday's game v Bendigo Bombers from Windy Hill to Strathfielsaye (a suburb out of Bendigo) not even the QEO at 12.00pm

I rang the VFL to complain as a number of my Collingwood & Essendon friends were going to Windy Hill to catch up & watch the game.

I was told the game was moved due to ground harm minimisation and some games were moved away from Bendigo earlier in the year.

FFS, AFL Victoria are taking a lead from that useless dud Adrian Anderson.

How farcial is it that our AFL coaches can't even watch our VFL games due to these fixture clashes (v Port Melb & Geelong) or scheduling games 2 hours away when we have a game on later that night.

We will all make both games comfortably.
We are more upset at the inconvenience and many supporters from both club's had planned their days around the VFL game.

I will be at both games.

Bendigo 12:00 - 14:30
Travel 15:00 - 16:30 (1.5 to 2 hours travel)
16:30 - 18:30 - 2 hours to fill in
7:10 bounce at the G for the game of the century

That's annoying for both Pies and Dons supporters. For those of us who won't end up making it , it means the VFL's fixturing has made it hard for Pies fans to support their VFL team for the second week in a row.

That should read 3 out of 4 weeks now and throw Gold Coast in there as well.

Gold Coast game should have started at 12:00pm not 2:00pm to give us time to get to the GABBA.

Geelong game started at 1:10pm at Kardinia Park and we were playing St Kilda at the MCG at 2:10pm.

Port and Carlton games on at exactly the same time.

And this week, even though it appears we will make both games with a couple of hours buffer between...

It is a really crap effort by AFL Victoria and they will be copping a lot of very organised shit from all angles when it is time to do the 2011 fixture. This will not happen again.

You would think the VFL would be taking advantage of Collingwood and progaming games so more supporters could attend.Collingwood always equals big$.

Glad i didnt organise the day off work. Was going to go with some friends who support Essendon. We went to the match-up in round 3.

Annual leave is like gold to me! :P

Blair has been left out and and has stayed in Melbourne as the sole "backup" emergency.

7.13.55

10.9.69

at 3/4 time, pies down by 14, but kicking against the wind in the last.

McCarthy has been on fire, kicked the last goal there to give us a chance at least.
