The VFL Flag.

Post by Presti35 »

Can Collingwood win it?

I did a VFL Ladder predictor and came up with this:

Williamstown 16-2

North Ballarat 16-2

Casey 15-3

Collingwood 13-5

Port Melbourne 12-6

Northern 11-7

Box Hill 9-9

Bendigo 9-9
-------------------------
Sandringham 5-13

Gold Coast 5-13

Coburg 5-13

Geelong 5-13

Werribee 3-15

Frankston 1-17

That would leave Willy, North Ballarat and the Bullants as the only teams Collingwood didnt defeat, before finals, in 2010.

If they lose to Willy, then it would be ideal to then knock out the Bullants in the Semi, knock out North Ballarat in the prelim and then beat Willy in the GF! :P :P :P

Mind you I had them beating Casey last week. In saying that, if they played Casey tomorrow, i would tip Collingwood to win.

But seriously can Collingwood beat the Roosters and/or Williamstown in the finals??

I watched the North Ballarat game at Vic park in the stands, as well as a few other games at Vic park which we won and lose, and I think that the problem is that we start really slow and then we gain steam and try to hit the lead, and if we do that against North Ballarat and Williamstown it would be hard to come back from.

But if we keep rotating players though the AFL and VFL to show the depth we have then yes we have a good chance to beat them.

We smashed Casey and Williamstown in the last years finals and were in front against the Roosters after we kicked the first goal of the second half of the prelim. They kicked 9 straight after that to put us away.

We are more than a chance and on our day can beat anyone.

The problem with the prelim was we also played Geelong that night at the MCG in the AFL prelim and Madhouse pulled several key players from the team playing mind games with Bomber. Worked a treat, we got smashed in both games.

After the loss yesterday, i think we might end up 5th. What a costly loss! :(

Remaning games:

Bendigo v Collingwood Sat, August 7 2:00pm Windy Hill
(Bendigo currently 8th)

Collingwood v Box Hill Sat, August 14 2:00pm Victoria Park
(Box Hill currently 6th)

Collingwood v Gold Coast Sat, August 21 1:00pm Victoria Park
(Gold Coast out of finals contension)

We can still get 4th if we win all three and Port drop a game.

Well either way, I think Collingwood need to win this one after the past two losses.

Getting top four in the VFL would be great!
