WASIM AKRAM

Post by JLC »

Wasim Akram i think has shown how poor Sri Lankas form is and how much of a class bowler he is. His second spell has been brilliant. He has a brilliant yorker and knows where to pitch the ball. Sri Lankas pathetic bowling attack (except for Vaas) made the South African top order look decent.....lol lol

The South African batting line up doesnt look so good against QUALITY fast bowling. Pakistan dont even have the Rawlipndi express playing in this game yet the South African top order has crumbled.

Early days yet but they certianly have a quality bowling line up. Not sure about the batting though.

Not sure which game you're referring to, JLC, as Sri Lanka haven't played the Pakis for a while but in the game on at the moment, Akram turned in a superb display against South Africa.

His 3/19 from 10 was excellent and included the vital wickets of Gibbs and Boucher for ducks. Unfortunately, his four mates, Younis (1/60), Sami (2/71 and Razzak (1/76) all went for heaps.

Jonty Rhodes showed again what a good one-day batsman he is, with 98 from 92 balls as RSA compiled 7/272.

What i meant was that the good form of Akram showed how bad the bowling of Sri Lanka was against South Africa.

Razzaq however bowled way too short and gave Jonty hitting practice early in his innings.

Didnt get to see much of Younis bowling.

The disappointing aspect was that Akram didnt give the younger bowlers any advice about where they should be pitching the ball etc etc

South Africas bowling along with Pakistans bowling remains their strength.

Well the Pakis were skittled for 140 with Pollock taking 3/12 from 9.5 overs !!

Wasim Akram went down fighting though. 2 sixes in his 14 from 10 balls.

Wassa had another good game in the Paki's last loss against RSA. He took 2/28 from 9 overs and hit 43n.o. from 56 balls with 2 sixes.

Pakistan on the ropes again. Dismissed for 213 and staring down the barrel with SA cruising on 1/130 with all bowlers going for 5 r.p.o. Wasim is not playing.

Whatever the result of this series, the Pakis are getting a good look at the World Cup venues.

Half their batsmen threw their wickets away with a lazy shot or silly run outs.

Afridi decides to slog fourth ball he faces even though all he had to do was support batsman at the other end.

Inzi plays a lazy shot and goes out LBW.

Most batsman did their best to try and run themselves out...lol

No one knows why Anwar isnt playing although must have something to do with bribary scandal. Wasim decides that he needed a reast from this game...lol

Didnt watch them ball so cant comment on that.

Does anyone know why Wassa and Shoaib Akhtar aren't playing in the first Test against South Africa?

Congratulations to Wasim Akram on becoming the first bowler to take 500 ODI wickets.

He's been playing for Pakistan for 18 years and has always been wonderful to watch.
