R13: Geelong v Collingwood - Sat 1:10pm
Looks like I will be a lonely old fellow down at Sleepy Hollow for ABC1 match of the day as the bounce for the St Kilda game at the G is on just one hour after the VFL starts.
Nice one AFL and AFL Vic.
(Our game against The Borough at TEAC Oval clashes directly with the Carlton game too)
Hopefully the MCG can keep Pies fans updated via the scoreboards and perhaps even play some game footage during the breaks, I am sure Aunty wont mind.
I will try and do a report to add to the photos if time permits.
Go Pies!

Yeah, a fair team indeed.
In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

A good win for the VFL...or should I say AFL reserve side, as only Kris Pendlebury was from the VFL side. The rest were AFL or AFL rookie listed.
Shae continues to improve and kicked two very good goals. His kicking style is reminicent of Charlie Manson.
Krita holds up that back line and while Nathan Brown, Jarrad Blight and Lachlan Keeffe are more than capable, I feel without Kris's guidance we would be leaking a lot more gaols. Great to see Nate Brown back on the park and he was solid all day getting involved in plenty of contests testing out his shoulder.
We dominated the middle of the park and half back, even though the Cats did have their moments of sustain attacked, it was just moments in a game that was won by the 15 min mark. O'Bree and Fraser were OK and still in contention for an AFL call up, but Josh Thomas is the revelation. His work in and around the packs has been borderline elite and this kid has a ripper future ahead of him. What I love about Josh is has no comparisons. He is no Judd, Abblett, Dal Santo, or any other of the usual 'he plays like' players, he plays his own style and is hard at it and in five years time could well be the player all the new recruits get compared to. "He plays like Josh Thomas"
Sean Rusling played without strapping and the calf injury may well have been a the saviour of his career allowing that shoulder to harden up. He was great, leading, marking and kicked a goal for his troubles. Lets all hope, Sean's sake, he gets a decent run at it this time, because Sean's best is in any teams best 22.
Jack Carter had a better game and plays his role well without being outstanding. Simon Buckley tries hard, perhaps too hard and his disposal is not quite there, but he has electrifying pace and gets the ball.
Rounds and Medhurst both continued to press for a call up, but I would assume Mick would prefer to try and play Leon out of his slump which will keep these two sidelined and Jarryd Blair offers a better midfield option. Up forward Luke and Paul were great, but when both got their chance in the middle their game fell off a bit and they would get slaughtered by most AFL midfielders at this point in time.
Tom Young is an outstanding talent destined for 200 AFL games and Scott Reed is doing everything right to make it all the way too. Both play solid games to the coaches plan and always beat their.
Jaxson Barham was very good and has filled Jarryd Blair's gap in the in and under work. He is also trying to take mark of the year, but hasn't quite held one yet. Still working hard with his medium to long range kicking the big issue.
John McCarthy moves like an AFL footballer and was the difference in the middle.
Tom Hunter is as mad as a cut snake and I love the way he goes about it. Full of surprises and always gets right up his opponents nose and his teammates absolutely love him for it. Plays for the jumper just the way we like it at Collingwood.
