Yes well, as much as it would have been nice to see him in our colours, I'm not sure it would have been the right message to send some of the younger blokes. Sure, he deserves a second chance but are we the ones to give it to him? With that said, I'm not sure the Aints are either. Isn't Gardiner a bit of a pisspot? He's going to be a great influence. Not.
A Pie for Life.
Manager Ricky Nixon has prepared a detailed case on Cousins' behalf.
Nixon's case will outline the former West Coast captain's extensive rehabilitation program and will try to explain his addiction.
It is believed the submission will explain how the Brownlow medallist cannot give an undertaking that he won't relapse into drug taking, because most addicts do not conquer their demons at the first attempt.

Hope he makes it. And yet some people can't understand why the club had its doubts Go figure.

mate, to answer your question, No, because the answer may be libellous.Magpie_Dan wrote:http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,24643666-661,00.html
If Benny gets through all the tests and does everything right to get back into the AFL system, will Collingwood ever tell us the real reason that we never took him? I wont be happy at all, thats for sure!EXCLUSIVE: BEN Cousins' path back to football cleared significantly yesterday when his urine sample was found to be drug-free.
But to put things in context, he's had anough time to prepare for the test, it wasn't a random one, he'd have to be a total dickhead to fail.

Michael Christian- media personality and 1990 premiership player
Craig Kelly- multi millionare and ex premiership player

That is utterr rubbish dude. Bollocks! A generalised statement that is way off the mark. As a social worker, I regularly come across former drug addicts and junkies who have been clean now for many years, even decades at times. That statement is true for SOME junkies but not for all.Culprit wrote:Once a junkie always a junkie.
I have vented my spleen enough about Cousins so I'll only repeat that Collingwood has just let go a golden opportunity to gain a talented player of experience to help our struggling midfielders because (according to them) he was too old at 30........Dear me.......
Still really disgusted and dirty on them but such is life following the mighty 'pies over the many years.........
