Will, Mate your passion certainly can't be knocked. Don't forget Euge is a busy man and over seeing the Cheer Squad with Will.B they are doing something above there daily duties. They have given us alot of the power back so perhaps you could run the ideas through us and we can agree to disagree via an open discussion or emails.

As for the chant book that you mentioned earlier. We don't need a book mate we just need supporters that chant. 1. It will be a waste of paper/time and effort.

We need to teach people to crawl before we teach them to walk.

Let's keep this topic on organising ideas for a top/jacket/scarf.

Start a new topic if you want to start on ideas for 2008. But lets keep this topic rolling on ideas for the kind gesture that Eugene has put forward.

Personaly I say a jacket. Something a little thicker than the previous effort of 2005. Something that can be used for say 2 years. So a year printed limits you to just 1 season.

Black and white all over with perhaps "Official CFC Cheer Sqaud on the back"

As for the idea of a scarf held high as we sing our song it truly does look magnificant when everyone is doing it.

THANKS Peter!

I will start a new thread about chants, and cs active support etc, a jacket sounds good, but as my good friend Frankie would agree, one with pockets! i would also be honoured to help organise our own magpie army scarfs if people are interested.

I reckon some kind of jumper would be good, remember we are playing winter. Although the ultimate would be a cheersquad scarf, that is what all the supporter groups in the soccer have, i.e. the Kop for liverpool even the BWB for the victory have their own scarf. Just an idea but it would probably be shot down knowing the anti soccer sentiment present on this site. But yh thats my 2 cents.
i like that idea
it would be a good way
because with tops
some people wanna were there jumper
and with jumpers some people want to wear tops
but everyone wears a scarf lol
so thats a good idea

As a non cheersquad member, my opinion is that a uniform of some sort would be a great idea. The cheersquad is a direct reflection of the club, so the club offering to outfit people in uniform (at a reasonable cost) is a great idea, but also comes with added responsibility. People wearing it will be potentially identifiable as a Collingwood Cheersquad member by their clothes on the way to and from matches and at after match "social" activities so their behaviour will reflect on the club.

Those who don't want their behaviour scrutinised or to have the club have a say in what they do have the choice not to remain in the cheersquad.

having spent one match as a guest in the cheersquad (thanks to Joffa and all the others I met there), I reckon they're a great bunch of people, passionate and proud.

if i could make a suggestion as to what, I would suggest a t shirt and a spray jacket.

cheer squad uniform

Post by fence-banger »

hello all, I'm new to this sort of thing, yes, a brand new member to nick's! I've heard about it of course, but more to do with the slanging matches, I'm afraid!
Cheer Squad uniforms? Nah, please let's think some more about this hey. Our tastes in clothing are probably different, so a kind of one size fits all approach to style etc is a bit much to expect, isn't it.
Scarves yes, great idea, luv it ~ they should be held high at every opportunity, but good luck in getting everyone to get active.
That's why I reckon we need to be asking Cheer Squad members to agree to wear black & white each week, not rainbow colours! At least we'd look the part! And definitely not opposition colours ~ we've all seen them haven't we ..... bright blue when we're playing North, red when we're playing St Kilda, it's madness!
The request could go on the Cheer Squad membership form, couldn't it?
