i'm not having a go at him, but maybe his achilles problem has slowed him down a little. Defenders like Glass and Scarlett have it all over him and the only reason he broke free and kicked those goals against Glass - who was holding him off the ball for most of the game, by the way - was that Glass had gone off the ground. Good on Ant for taking the opportunity, but if he hadn't had the delivery he got it wouldn't have mattered if Glass was on the ground or not.

Returned yesterday from 6 weeks OS and look what's been happening...

Pies just lose to Cats. Haven't seen the game yet so can't really comment.

JC retires. Expected a few others to go before Jimmy but that's footy. Been a fantastic servant of the club.

As for the season, I recall prior to the ball being bounced to start round 1 that there were a lot of people happy to right the team off. I said then that all we'd need is for a few things to go our way and anything is possible. As it turned out, almost nothing (critical umpiring decisions, injuries, tribunal etc etc) went our way and we still nearly made it into the GF. Well done boys!

There also seems to be some funny calls being made within this post...

Rocca should be delisted... What crap! Still the most important forward in our team. Yes I acknowledge that his bad games are a worry but his mere place in the team takes enormous pressure of other emerging forwards. Will be critical next year for the development of Dawes etc.

We should be chasing Judd or we would have won with him in our team... Well obviously we'd be better if we had a Judd in our team. Same with Kerr, Black or any number of other players. We don't have them so get over it. As for recruiting Judd, if we can do a deal that doesn't destroy the fabric of the team then by all means get him to the club, otherwise let the kids we've got develop.

We should be recruiting a midfielder with our first pick in the draft... Draft is still a long way off but again I'm amazed with the lack of confidence in the kids we've already got, most of them still very young.
