I saw Sim and the emu making babies, and one of the babies looked at me and said "feck off!" I have never been so scared in all my life...IT HAD AN EMU BODY!
I'd suppose we do, (based upon nothing more than what powers having admin rights usually gives you), but it's not an option that appears on any of our control panels that we use for day to day stuff.
If you're that keen to find out, you could PM Mike who'd know for sure.
Apart from, for example, a court or police requesting it, I couldn't see a reason for mods to 'view' them. (which doesn't exclude other possible reasons, and I'm sure the bush lawyer fraternity will provide a list of these instances forwith)

I guess there may come a time when you need to post something very personal or sensitive to another member. Some may not feel comfortable knowing that such posts are able to be viewed. I do stress 'able', I'm sure there's nothing sinister involved. I suppose it just comes down to, if your not comfortable, don't post.
It's not a big deal really and I've no intention of creating a fuss over it, just curious, that's all
