Inacurate kicking and POOR kicking cost us but more disappointing was quite a few half hearted efforts tonight by some of the boys. No names but I'm sure they know who they are.magirl wrote:Inaccurate kicking at goal has cost us all year and will prove costly at the business end of the season. Hope we can straighten up for finals.

i agree. fourth spot was possible but highly improbable. worst case scenario was always finish sixth. we trailed all day so probably didn't deserve to win.eddiesmith wrote:Magnificent effort of tanking, win or lose we were going to finish 6th so may as well have let them win, make them feel like they have the wood on us then smash em on the G next week
now looking forward to next week, a grand final every week. tough ask but not impossible.

What was more disappointing was that we could have easily made the top 4 and seriously challenged for the premiership. we only needed to beat Richmond and then tonight we had a chance, but the team obviously don't want it badly enough....sorry guys we're just making up the numbers again.
woeful effort

what else also sh*ts me is that Rusling is a potential gun player but is so friggin frustrating b/c nearly every game he gets injured! Had a blinder against Sydney then boom he's out again guess what...injured. He gets the Lee Walker award!
Gee how much do we miss Didak and Fraser! Didak's presence and knack for goal assists and kicking goals, taking out a good opposition player...what a shame he didn't play.

Do not give up on this team. They have exceeded expectations all year. I am disappointed that we did not make the 4, but look at all of our games. With the exception of the Brisbane loss, most were close and we could have been sitting right up there. Granted Richmond was a big disappointment. We have had to beat other teams AND the umpires. It is so frustrating.
Tonight we had nothing to lose and everything to gain. Unfortunately we did not gain, but can come out firing next week hopefully with Fraser, Didak and Rusling (who looked awesome last week).
I think the finals are wide open and I know it is hard from 6th but it can be done.

Before we came back late in the second I thought we must have had money on ourselves to lose. Some of the decision making looked dead set deliberate. Not caused by pressure - just plain deliberate shockingness.
We did not give a flying fruit bat tonight. We gave a bit of a yelp for us poor helpless fans but that was about it.
Can someone in the recruiting team please recruit a player who the opposition can't touch? I want a Hird, a Ricciouto, a Lloyd.... just someone that gets goals for doing nothing than being a favourite of the umpires.
Nuff said.... doesn't matter who we play next week I reckon you'll see a different side run out next week!

Yep, average performance.eddiesmith wrote:Magnificent effort of tanking, win or lose we were going to finish 6th so may as well have let them win, make them feel like they have the wood on us then smash em on the G next week
Look on the bright side, St Kilda supporters will be feeling sick in the guts, knowing they were barracking for us (collingwood) all night and for no gain.
..same said with Brisbane supporters.
understanding stuff, with endeavour to overstand..

we didn't lose by that much. we need to move on from the 'we shouldda beaten so and so' and the 'didn't want it enough' comments.
let's look forward at the opportunity we have and that we have made the finals again with a team that is hugely different to that which fronted last year.
