What crowd are they expecting this week?

I'm assuming a few extra Carlton fans will turn up to farewell Kouta. I just hope we get over the line, we really need to bounce back after last week.

I think 73,000. The MCG is estimating 58,000.

I noticed an article in the Sun how Murphy played as a tagger last week.

http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/ ... 42,00.html

The last bit is the most interesting:
Blues fans are invited to congregate in Federation Square before Saturday's match against Collingwood and be led by Captain Carlton to the MCG as a navy army.
Ya reckon Barb can walk that far??

It's probably incorrect but at training yesterday it looked like Dane Swan was doing work with the Williamstown players. I'm sure I'm mistaken and we wouldn't drop Swanny see what happens...

We have to be really serious about this game. With a new coach, and the retirement of Kouta, and the fact the blues always lift for Collingwood, MM has to have a solid gameplan in place.

FIrstly, id be putting Lockyer head to head with Carazzo. The guy gets 40 touches a game. Mostly influential, but he doesnt turn it over. IF you are getting the ball that much, you have to be watched. When he has been tagged, he hasnt got as much of the ball. Lockyer is a similar player, is smarter, and more damaging by foot.

Secondly, id be putting someone close on Kade Simpson. SOmeone like Rhyce Shaw, or newby Cook could be options. Simpson is currently their most damaging player and i think if we can stop his run, we will win comfortably.

If Licuria plays, which i doubt, id like to see him go on Marc Murphy and prove his doubters that experience and heart are still valuable commodities. Murphy works well with Fevola. If we want to limit Fev's goals, stopping Murphy would be a good first port of call. Otherwise someone like Martin Clarke could be given a run with role, or Johnson or Swan. I think Carlton will actually put Murphy defensively on Swan, as they did last week with Montagna. It seems clubs are rating Swan as our most influential midfielder of late.

Presti will take Fevola, and Clement will take whoever they put CHF, which will be either O'Hailpin or Waite. I think Waite might go back onto Rocca, but i rate him more as a CHF.

Then i'd love to see Goldsack onto Fisher. I think this would be an awesome matchup. Fisher is in top nick this year, and is extremely quick. His kicking is suspect, but he seems to be nailing more than he is missing lately. Also he has a great pair of hands. He is flying under the radar with most teams putting attention onto Fevola. I think Goldy is the ideal matchup

Up forward, im hoping to see Medhurst named this week. Id be giving him a free run, the same way we are using him at williamstown. With Rocca usually an impossible task to conquer for Carlton, I'd like to see him given the 50, with Trav playing up the ground, and Medhurst used as a decoy lead to draw men away from Rocca.

Id also like to see Richards do 60% of the rucking, with Fraser used primarily up forward to stretch the blues. Good chance for Richards to have a good game.
There's more to life than footy.........just not much more.

Bentick always plays well against us, but good to see Lappin and Kouta in the outs....

Clement is a big in obviously, good to see Cook make his debut, and good to see R.Shaw in the emergencies.

Bad luck to Licca.

This means players that haven't made the team will have the week off... surely would've been a good week to rest a few bodies, ie Didak.
