Pre Match: Pies v. 'Aints - All comments please.
Time we turned our attention to this weekends game vs The 'Aints.
After a not quite getting across the line against the Hawks but still showing plenty to suggest we are still a force even without the likes of Rocca, Jimmy, Presti, Harry, Rhyce Bomb & Bucks, I think we will give the Saints a hiding.
We should have Harry back in this week & the debate amongst this forum is whether or not we play Bryan as our big forward.
They may regain the hack Hamill & maybe Maguire, but our small forwards will run them off their feet & our hard working midfield will beat theirs.
They will try & isolate Gehrig one on one with whoever gets the gig on him (probably Wakelin) because we don't have Jimmy or the glove Presti for at least another week, i'd say Harry will go to Riewolt maybe even Goldsack may get a chance on him.
All in all, we are well over due to beat these underachieving, front running pack of losers & for me We will win by 37 points...
Other thoughts...?

Who will we put on the little behind the play sniper Baker ??
With their season all but over I don't think they'd risk Hamill and Maguire after only one game in the magoo's!?
Their pace worries me a bit, last couple of weeks they've got their run back.
Run and tackle hard Pies, stop their delivery to Roo and G-string and let's give em heaps !!!
(don't forget ya blankets)

Its about time we gave it to Mike Sheahan's Grand Final Herald Sun paper glamour dolly centre fold champions. Didak has to get on top of Baker early as he will be keen to put him off his game. Wakelin need to suck in garbage bag Gehrig as he is like a toady and will take a bit at anything in the bay. If its a wet day the saints wil crumble like they did against Port . Brad Dick should come in for pace and precise kicking . Drop Holland. Harry will have to play a big one on the peroxided girl Riewoldt. Ben Reid can exploit Maguire for match fitness and pace but must convert ! Travis has to kill for Collingwood this week just as Burnsy does every time he smells the leather. Need a big one from Leon, Medhurst , Dale and Pendles and our Backline to keep the grit and faith.
Come on lads ! We bloody owe 'em!

Lots of worried people so far, why I have no idea...!
If we had of converted our chances against Hawthorn we would have won by about 5 goals & everyone would be saying we will win this week by 10+ goals...
Confidence people! We will win this one...

If we had kicked straight all year, there is a distinct chance that we would be sitting atop the AFL ladder with no losses.
We have contributed to all of our losses. We outplayed Hawthorn for much of Sunday's game, yet they were a lot more precise than us.
Someone has said that St Kilda are quick....compared to a tortoise maybe. They only have 2 quick players - Montagna and Gilbert, the rest are pedestrian at best.
I for one really hope Maguire plays. Cloke will give him the runaround, and I'd say that he'd be gone by 1/2 way through the 3rd qtr.
Ok, so the Saints have won their last 2 games. On closer inspection, that's no big deal. Firstly, the Eagles played by far their worst half of football since we knocked them off in 2005. And that Judd boy did not play. But in the space of 8 minutes in the 3rd qtr, the Saints conceded 5 goals.....i believe the Blues did something similar to them.
The Richmond game. Richmond scored 100 points. How many times has that happened this year? For large patches of this game, Richmond completely dominated. Now considering they've only won one game for the season, that really doesn't say much for St Kilda's defence.
By the end of the game, St Kilda won by 17 points, yet Riewoldt and Gehrig kicked 9 goals between them. History suggests that Fraser doesn't play well 2 weeks in a row too often.
The other thing is that the Saints don't really rate us. That is not very surprising considering that their former coach admitted after the Hawthorn game that he doesn't think much of us. Therefore, there is every chance that they think they'll walk straight over the top of us. We want them to be cocky.
Therefore the only querie this week will be - will we kick straight? I think part of the problem is that too many of our set shots are from near the boundary. I think we also need our mids to contribute goals.....pendles, davis, lockyer, brodie need to kick some sausage rolls.
All in all, expect the Saints to come out thinking it will just happen for them, and I think we'll take an early lead to end up winning convincingly by 41 pts.
