This weekend the first round of the VFL Finals series begins with Williamstown to take on the Murray Kangaroos in the 2nd Elimination Final on Sunday 1st September.
Williamstown were impressive in their 55 point demolition of Springvale on Saturday, whilst the Murray Kangaroos were beaten by the 5th placed Box Hill.
When these sides met in June the Seagull's came out 13 point victors in what was a closely fought match from start to finish. The two teams are very evenly matched and this Sunday promises to be a fiercely fought battle as both sides battle to progress to the semi finals.
The Reserves will take on Port Melbourne at TEAC Oval on Saturday August 31st. The Reserves fine tuned their game with a 95 point victory over the bottom of the table Springvale on Saturday, however will find the going much tougher as they tackle the Borough who finished the season in 2nd place, one spot above Williamstown.

From The Hobsons Bay Times:
THE cards have fallen beautifully for Williamstown, who finished sixth with an 11-9 record after its last home-and-away game last weekend.
The Seagulls' comprehensive 55-point win over Springvale at Moorabbin brought renewed enthusiasm for coach Brad Gotch in the finals. And the Gulls will have a home ground advantage at Point Gellibrand on Sunday when they face the Murray Kangaroos in the secong elimination final at 2.10pm.
Club administrator Brendan Curry said Tom Davidson (groin) and Nathan Lovett-Murray (hamstring) could miss. But there was good news, with Scott Cummings (hip) and rover Craig Anderson (shoulder) likely to return after several weeks' recuperation.
"We beat the Roos by a couple of goals earlier in the season, and we know it's going to be tough," Curry told The Times. As a bonus the Gulls will offer a 25 per cent discount to fans who produce their VFL club membership at the gate.

Collingwood captain Nathan Buckley could be coming to Point Gellibrand on Sunday. Not merely to help inspire the Williamstown players for the VFL elimination final against the Murray Kangaroos, but as a guest speaker at the pre-match lunch starting at noon.
"We hope to lock in Bucks early this week," general manager Brendan Curry said.
