Interesting comments on Richards. His around the ground work last night seemed ordinary compared to Fraser and Bryan. On the night I thought he got a fair number of hit outs but they have no direction to them and give the opposition on ballers a good chance to win the clearance. If he gets that part right he might make an average ruckman, the question is, how much patience does the club have with him to develop his skills to an adequate level?

I,ve been off the air for a week,BUT I watched the game on Fox.....tough game til 1/2 way thru the third quarter,BUT once the guys got thier free flowing game going and they ran the feet off Bris, then it was still in the balance.
Next week will be the big test against Freo, but as long as the guys get their fast free flowing game going early, then watch out.......

Richards: Best game i've seen him play!
Travis: Played a ripper!
Rocca: A couple of really good strong grabs!!.. straight kicking would've put just outside the best on the night!
Toovey: Despite the fact he always seems to get near the ball, i think he probably made a few too many mistakes saturday night?????

I like the kid's enndevour, but did Toovey accidentally smear butter on his hands instead of resin? I've never seen a player fumble so many times in one game. He has to improve his one-grab abilities if he is going to make it.
I actually thought Richards gave us something around the grounds - he hit nearly every target, too. But yes, our centre square work is HORRID. Brisbane (and the Bulldogs, and whoever else) have this ability to get first hands on the ball, find a loose man on the wing or forward of centre...bang inside 50m). If we ever get first hands on it, we fumble, and, at best, cause another ball up. What's with that? Work it out, coaches.
T.Cloke is gettign better and better. The loss of Tarrant has not hurt us at all, really, and to think we have another young player out of it, plus a goalsneak in Medhurst (who was a bit fumbly and nervous at times due to having not playede in 5 weeks), but he'll shine next week vs Freo I reckon).
Burns - LEGEND.
P.S. Game was never in doubt. The horse "Burns" won a race during the day, and I tipped us by 33 before the match (proof is in my pre-game sms I sent to a mate).
P.S. Pendlebury ... KID-CAN-PLAY. His front and centre positioning in the 3rd quarter to set up a handball into the goal square to Swan brought a tear to my eye (if anyone knows me on this board, they know I love a good front and centre).

Just bloody wrapped we just never gave in and kept throwing punches and hit them on the chin ! Tarks was everywhere like chips with a pub meal. Burns doing his usual tough stuff and two great goals. Pendlebury pure class. Trav Clokes 2 goals fantastic his marking was great. I loved O'Bree's goal he even did it with a bandage up his nose. Medhurst snap was classy. I really hope we can roll on from this win. Freo is a big test!
P.S. I loved watching Lynch and Pig face Dunstall having to praise us suffer !

Step 1: Get the ball.Johnson#26 wrote:Anyone else impressed by Tooves' attack on the footy? He may have been pinged a few times by the umpires, but, boy, he attacked hard and is a real goer.
Step 2: Do something with it.
He seems to be having no problem getting it, and without that, you can't progress to Step 2. It will come, and meanwhile he must have been right up there in "hard ball gets" for the night.
