I agree Thomas seemed to be suffering more from his injury than Burns.

I think Lucas is a bigger danger at the moment.

Is that a fact or generalization? I dont want to drop cox rude, but max can go back anzac day, we can use the extra forwards, if we dont essendon will rebound something stupid, im already worried about cloke? Mcphee is in AA form and killing teams with his run and class, we need more forwards so we can avoid going to Trav and Ant too often. MM has a real chance if medders and dids are set loose, some nice decoys and space we could match their 2 peanuts lucas and fairy diver, can win the midfield and hopefully smash them in the ruck if hille is out and bryan gets the chain taken off. They are all hype the dons, if we can get our forward pressure on it will be a close game. We will win or loose this game in our forward line. We need to stack it and keep it in their, move off our players when they rebound and trap them when they go forward.
It is definitely my opinion that Toovey and Cox will definitely not be dropped. That is a statement of fact.

With any number of players out through injury, I can't see us adding to the mess by dropping fit players, particularly ones who played well - and in my book both Toovey and Cox played well. If Presti is out, we are going to need backs. Also Cox is flexible enough to be used in the midfield or up forward, as he was used on saturday. Of the newcomers, only Dicks position may come under scrutiny, given that he had virtually no impact on the game.

With Didak and Medhurst coming back our forward options will be much improved.

The temptation will obviously be to bring in Wakes to replace Presti (assuming he's injured). That would be a mistake. I'd play Cloke at CHB and have a whole host of smalls and mids down forward around Pebbles - Dids, Medhurst, Leon, Maxwell - with Josh down there when Bryan is in the ruck.

Outs: Presti, Licca (both inj), Richards

I agree about cloke at CHB thats his position as far as im concerned. He should play there all year and learn it while we are in this transitional phase. I still think we need wakes to help cover lucas and fairy floss.

BTW forgot to say this earlier but i heard Wakes say he was injured on the weekend and thats why he didn't play. So i guess there would be a cloud over him coming back.

Bryan is a must, Richards & Fraser aren't doing enough. Not sure if it is a fitness thing or injury.

Lets hope Didak is ready.

Would like to see Reid have a game. Came in with big wraps & the ideal way for Mick to test him. Also reported on Willy Board that he was omitted with a couple of others (can someone confirm?)
Brown Reid Iles and Bryan all were watching from the sidelines today http://www.magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopi ... 2&start=30

Who didn't play

Post by GoWoodsmen »

Does anyone know who, of the possible inclusions, did not play yesterday for Willy? Would is be fair to say that any player that did play is no chance to be included.... only a three day turnaround. Having said that I recall a one Heath Shaw playing for Willy on a Saturday then being a late inclusion for a Sunday game and racking up 20+ touches in his first game (I think)... so who knows... as MM said... it's over to the fitness staff

Cant believe people want to drop Toovey, good player no need to drop...
Although Richards is useless Bryan isnt our answer either but I guess we really have no one else.. Could Trav or someone else take ruck duties this week so that we can play another runner?? I think Hille might miss Anzac Day if thats any consilation..

Out: Dick, Licca, Thomas, Burns, Presti
In: Wakes, Reid, Didak, Iles, Medhurst

Wrapt to see Cox, Toovey playing well, they look the goods and dont back down, were building guys, forget the Blues and the Bombers kids, our list is definately heading in the right direction just need to build on our depth..

Agreed keep Toovey and Cox in the side. Medhurst will be a handy addition. We must unsettle the bummers early. All should target Hird & Lloyd at opening bounce ruffle, the windy hill whingers!

I agree. Lucas is having a purple patch and leading the coleman. Presti/wakes on Lloyd will be secondary to probably maxwell on Lucas.
