Indeed. I was looking for ironic. Brisbane 51.00
Kangaroos 101.00
Carlton 126.00
Surprisingly Collingwood is paying $23 while the only team it has managed to beat in the preseason, St Kilda, is paying $8.

Definitely quite a few positives, but tell that to the little area of my cerebral cortex that sends messages of nausea, grief, depression & fear to the pit of my stomach. Tell it to the involuntary pulse rate of 140 & BP of 160 over 120 that manifests itself as I wait for the page the score is on to load. Tell it to the half dozen remote controls that have mysteriously developed cracks and had bits fall off about the same time Collingwood chucks a 3 goal last quarter lead to lose to Melbourne. Tell it to my family who've heard the muffled screaming and banging, tried in vain to comfort me and then gotten the plastering quotes.
God, how I wish I could be nothing but pragmatic. When the dust settles I'm rapt to see Chopper named as a BOG so early, and a grand final team of the last two years tag a kid like Pendles. Licca played a mighty game, & Pebbles looks to be in good nick, you cant ask for a better outcome from preseason football than one or two kids announce themselves as stars. Tomorrow morning it will be obvious to me that if we had just gone a little harder in the third and stayed within a few goals of a full strength Sydney team with Premiership and Grand finalist medallion from the last 2 seasons we'd just about have the perfect result. After all, knock over Saints & Sydney in succession and other teams will be looking a bit harder at us. Winning pre-season praccys gets us nothing, so WHY does it hurt so damn much??? Do other teams suffer like this? or is it just us?
Anyway, I dont think we can get any prizes this year as I dont think we can kick enough goals. Losing my favourite player to Fremantle was a teeny bit tempered by knowing we had a similar type of player in Rus. Now he's gone. I don't believe Pebbles can kick enough as good as he is, and that leaves Trav & Rogan as our possibilities for a big guy who can kick 70-100. Sure, our mosquito fleet is fantastic, but can they manage the 15 - 20 chikos a week needed to make the top 4? I'm not interested in developing a side to win in 2010. That's bullshit. I want to win THIS year! I want to win EVERY game, EVERY week. Preferably by 100 or more points...That's not asking that much is it??? Okay, I hafta go now, it's time for the nurse to bring my meds.... Its all going to be alright? isnt it? Yeah... everything will be fine. he he....thats right... No no, I dont need the coat tonight doctor...Reid played well, and Mick says it'll be allright, yeah... that's it! ... just fine.......

Serious? I hurt after a real match but a loss in a practice match doesnt bother me at all. Would prefer to win but dont really care. Big picture is a few OUTSTANDING youngsters are coming through fairly quickly. Pretty happy with things at the moment.35forever wrote:Winning pre-season praccys gets us nothing, so WHY does it hurt so damn much??? Do other teams suffer like this? or is it just us?

Great to hear that Wellingham and Reid both played well.
Pendles and Daisy seem to be backing up for another good season.
Bryan might be a rough diamond after all.
Read elsewhere we played a lot of our kids on a lot of Sydney's best and you can't get fussed about results in practice matches where coaches are trying new game plans and looking to give kids a run and a bit of a test.
All I'm looking for at this point in the year is: NO INJURIES, some good systems and flowing footy and to see a few kids looking likely.

Love your work 35forever. Hopefully the nurse bringing the med's isn't named ratchett.
Much as I'd love to win every game we play, practise matches are there for practise. The teams playing full strength teams in NAB cup matches or practise matches are doing it for membership/sponsorship reasons as much as anything else. I'm happy to see we're trying guys who may not make our first 22 this year to give them a taste and see what they've got.
Roll on the real thing.
