Well that's a nice little ear clipping we got! ohhhh.

Just thought I heard a snippet of someone saying Hall has injured a knee. But wasn't sure if I heard right.

Pessimists, it all depends where you think we are in the scheme of things.

ok bazdaddy here goes...

Awwww we are bottom 4 for sure. I wasn't at the game but where were our goalkickers. Rocca was playing but didn't kick enough goals, sack him for sure, how much money is he getting I could play better. Why didn't Martin Clarke star? I want my membership money back that payed for the scouts that scouted him. How come our draftees aren't as quick as Judd or Davey and can't kick like Nathan Buckley? Sack hine! SACK MM! SACK EM ALL!

Did Clarke actually play. I realise that he was in the 28 man squad but that doesn't mean he played.

Looking at the squad, it's fairly clear that MM is pacing the preparation of many players. It's a long season!

Clarke did play from some report from Jimmy35 from bigfooty.com/forum. Said he was smooth but didn't really stand out (also said he couldn't really see much from his view).

Scores in practice matches are irrelevent. How did the youngsters go? Did anyone step up? Did we experiment with anything? How did Rocca look in first game?
These sorts of things are what is imprtant in practice matches, not the result

Rocca kicking 3 in his first game for the year and Ben Reid being named as best sounds like GREAT news. Reid coming thru much faster than expected (played well last week too) is BETTER news than winning a practice match.

Have to agree Chopper being named the best is a good sign for the future.

You never want to lose a match, but practice matches are all about blooding players, gaining experience, coming back from injury, gaining form, experiementing, etc, etc..

For example, if you could have one of the following results from next weeks practice match, which would you chose:

1. Didak plays half a game and looks brilliant, Reid plays well again, pendlebury stars but we lose by 10 goals
2. Nothing of note happens in the game and we have a workman-like 3 goal win

I'd take option 1 by an absolute mile.
