Just noticed that you can now watch full matches of Pies games, not just CTV. That is very very good. :D

I just tried to watch the North game from overseas, but it's a no go. I emailed Telstra during the week as I couldn't find a link to the international subscriptions page, and they told me there was a problem with the link (LOL--links are as we know made up of 843 moving parts).

Do any overseas Nicksters have further word on that?

I guess this should be posted in another thread, but I wonder Joel if that free availability of full matches to non-Bigpond people (if that's what you mean) was just temporary???

J26 love the run-down of the game, and thanks to everyone else for contributing such great info.

J26 you must have been pumped seeing Galloping Guy play a record three games in a row LOL.

[quote="Chris Bryan looked the goods as well. Set up Medhurst in the first quarter with a beautiful tap behind. One of the first goals I've seen for us from a direct tap in frigging years! He also seems to have a bit of the black dog in him. Was only a little thing, but at half time when the melee was on Bryan ran full tilt from the bench to the far half forward flank to have a crack. Heater actually had to sprint in front of him to hold him back - seemed realy keen to fly the flag which I loved.

Do we think that this ex-scum is the answer to all our dreams?

Perhaps Carlton was not the place for him because he actually has some talent.

I was not sold on the trade, but the proof is in the pudding and I am afraid that Chris is a step ahead of Stretcher at the moment. He is committed, hard at it, good leap and just as good at ground level. Good kick too.

I think the biggest indication that something is going right in the Ruck department is that Rogan is playing with what appears to be a massive weight lifted from his shoulders. Josh, at long last, knows that he is not be all and end all of our tall timber.

J26... excellent post. However, I think you underrated both Lockyer and Cox's performances. Both deserved a higher mark in my opinion. But a great run down.

Great writing again Johnno, a media career awaits, without doubt! Keep it up. From reading

the nine pages of this thread there is plenty to like in that performance, The words that

struck me most were 'Attack', & 'Pendles'. Not used to hearing the words 'Collingwood' &

'attack' used in the same sentence since the second half of '03! Makes me feel very happy

indeed!
Sounds like Pendles could be a real shining light in the midle as long as people instantly

desist from using the words "This kid could be the next...(insert name of legend here)".

Don't pressure the kid to death like we did with Rogan, who is just now recovering! Still,

given the number of mentions in dispatches, I'm surprised Johnno couldn't fit him into the

BOG list.
Obviously our skills are stiill not where they need to be, but that could still be pre-season

rust. Here's hoping (& praying) that the silky ones like Lones, Bucks, Pendles, Leon, Heater, Meddles (is that what we'll call him?), Dids,et al will get their skills in top shape & infect the rest of the side. For truly finely honed finishing skills and attack on the ball are the only obstacles standing between our guys & silverware. We've shown we can roll any team in the game when we're 'on', even without our best. Those who suggest that this win has nobearing on the season proper don't know much about Collingwood. We are a 'confidence' team, have been since the seventies (though some would say the early forties). A good win against a top rated side (particularly one of our current 'bogey' teams), is a huge shot in the arm for the kids especially, but also for the l'ship group & staff. The fact that they went in hard despite it being a 'meaningless' praccy is another good sign, and shows that the young guys are both aware of the shortage of senior spots, and are prepared to put in, & fight hard to snaffle one. In other words, the desire is there, there'll be no sitting around putting in a half-arsed effort like '04-'05, knowing that a spot would open up sooner or later in an injury rattled team. Personally I believe several guys (Tex and Cam being obvious examples) had their development set back several years by that disastrous period. With desire comes hard work, with hard work comes increased skill and endurance, with increased skill and endurance comes confidence, and with confidence comes silverware. It really is that simple.
