What a day, great fun, marred by the Dick/Baker incident. That 'Saints B&F winner' ( ) deserves weeks.

Will have a full report up shortly, both here and on CFC.com.au. Stay tuned!

Oh, and FWIW, CTV has never been better. :)

If we can get just 20 people chanting like we did for a bit of the game today imagine what may be possible if everyone joined in at the Ponsford end....

Good old Phil......I think I counted no less than 30 times he mentioned that bloody 41 year old rusty cup.

like what exactly??
Like WHAT?? Geez!! How about sheer joy? Happiness? Credibility as a good side? Confidence? Positive outlook for the year?

Unbelievable.......!!

Give me a win anyday in any game involving Collingwood rather than another bloody loss dude. We must NOT have a losing culture set in among the newer younger players FFS

Go thrash 'em 'pies, its worth a lot and means bloody heaps to MOST of us fans......
Time for your "meds" Laz. As per our discussion, nice to win but absolutely meaningless as far as the season proper goes. Pre-season form goes out the window as soon as four points are on the line.

Whilst it was good to win as one player remarked its better to be winning, it was far from a good performance. Most of the 2nd half was disgraceful, skill errors were terrible, St Kilda just played like shit

Reallistically for the way we dominated we should have won by 100 points but couldnt convert, turned it over too easily

Some good signs from Pendles, Leon, Josh and Trav

Heater wasnt too bad and Reid looked good down forward although it seems the no20 is cursed in front of goal

Pretty good crowd there as well but dont get too excited about that win, there is alot of work to do yet

A question for those who saw the game:

Leon is great at using his body in the forward line, but has struggled in the hurly burly of midfield stoppages in the past. Has he improved in that regard? I notice he has bulked up, and I was hoping that would enable him to develop his man-on-man defensive skills. I also note Brad Scott complimented his tackling in the first praccy too.
I thought Leon was excellent in the midfield. Got plenty of the ball, went in for the hard ball, and a few times he got the ball in the pack and busted out for a short run and disposal. He is exactly what we need in the centre... explosive speed. He definately seems to have bulked up a bit, seems a lot stronger shrugging tackles etc.

Heater wasn't too bad?!? Are you kidding EddieSmith? He had 21 possessions in the first half and kicked 2 goals off the half-back line, before they rested him in the 3rd quarter, as a precaution against a serious dose of leather poisoning!

Shannon Cox will play senior footy this year. His ball handling, composure and disposal was first class all day. Ad to that he plays the man very hard he will be one to watch.

Sam Iles is getting plenty of ball too and I still like the looks of Alan Toovey. Both will feature very strongly in Williamstown's season this year and I dare say the Gulls may have a great shot at going a couple better this season.

Last but certainly not least. Our Scotts, one at each end of the career spectrum. Burns is showing some of his 2002/03 best. Pendles is showing all the reasons why we Seagull watches rated him so highly. The boy has got poise and oozes class.

Go Pies, great win.

Thanks Joffa, tell Em I never even noticed, although I quite like the name.

Sure was good to see the ole familiar faces again, (both the supporters and the players) and great to see the new young players giving it a go.
