He does need work and so does the likes of Ben Davies, but the potential is there. Give these kids a go, they're not going to learn how to play in the big time unless they are given a chance which is what should have been happening during the season. He only plays them once or twice then drops them again and persists with an unfit Licca (love him when he's up and running), Taz and Rocca. Let the big boy's build up fitness and form for Willy and get the kids involved. Here's a thought, let Rowdy and Bluey take over the coaching and selection, bet we'd see a difference !?

It's the players!!!!!... not the coach!
As incidents of the game replay in my mind [despite me trying to block them out], one that really stands out and reflects the attitude we had Sunday afternoon occurred in the 3rd quarter!
The Dogs had a boundary throw in about 50 - 60m from their goal. Sitting deep inside 50 was a Mr leading club goal kicker & probably B&F Brad Johnson pretty much on his own. The closest player [about 15m] to him not minding anyone was young Thomas. Now i'm pretty sure that MM wouldn't have young Dale looking after the Smiling assassin during an elimination final. That was further confirmed to me when Dale seemed to be gesturing to his team mates for some kind of assistance,... which went unheard/unseen. So I assumed that with all the tagging & midfield rotations someone got lost [lazy!!!] and Thomas was forced to cover 'temporarily'. That temporary role seemed to last forever - obviously it didn't, but play went on, we had another stoppage [ball-up] and play went on still in the same vicinity of the ground - STILL no back up for young Dale. Then the inevitable,.... a short pass to a leading Brad Johnson with Dale the back man trailing behind [not his fault of course] directly in front of goal,......... GOAL!
No assistance, no sacrifice from his team mates, no run, no talk,....... nothing!

Leaving Daisy out on his pat malone was like leading a lamb to the slaughter. The young fella is an inspiration to all the kids out there looking at playing footy, he doesn't give up and has a very mature head on his shoulders for an 18 year old. The poor kid was expecting to be backed up like they back each other up at Williamstown. I remember earlier in the season, Willy were easily home.... five minutes to go in the last and Harry O'Brien ran 25 to shepherd... now that's team work. Gotch and Eames have a very well oiled machine down there. There team lists are changed weekly yet they all work so well together, the team work is great to watch and I sincerely hope all the Magpie fans get down to TEAC oval this Sunday to watch the firsts take on Geelong in the Prelim at 2.10pm !!!
Maybe the senior list should train with the entire Williamstown squad, watch, learn and listen.
