24 hitouts? They must be joking, or were Guy and Josh the ones hitting Scott West on the chest all day or tapping it straight back to their opponent

What a pathetic bunch of hacks. Can't believe I wasted good money to watch that pitiful display. Didn't even give as much as a wimper today.

Tarrant you can well and truly **** off - trade him, get rid of him you are not worthy to wear the black and white.

Lonie you must sleep with the light on you are that soft.

Maxwell, hey budd it's finals mate any chance you might actually run with and stick on your player.

Weak as piss and we deserve all the slagging we are gonna get.

By the the Bullies were awesome and would love to see them go further.

Taz, the junk time speciallist, does it every week when the game is over he pops up to improve his score sheet, shame he couldnt kick a goal from outside the square when it was there to be won and still he nearly $@&^# it up from 5m out

Had to laugh at the stupid morons around me who had Collingwood scarves made up with a picture of Taz on them, damn hilarious

Got two of them in junk time Jenzy! When we really needed him to kick them, he didn't and that's about the story of Taz! Both him and Rocca really let us down when they needed to kick the crunch time goals!

todays game

I had to try very hard today not to let show, the hurt I was feeling watching that very disappointing performance. What was very worrying is the fact that basically that is our team and I can't see any major changes happening that will take us the next step. On paper I thought that we might have the cattle to win but I truly believe in that intangible thing called spirit. I was worried that their desire would prove the difference and the Bulldogs have had plenty this year. They were not going to let this chance slip.Good luck to them. May as well throw out all the game replays from this year. All means nothing tonight.

Robert Flower's birthday syndrome strikes again! Just like the Essendon game.

Just because some overrated hack is celebrating his 299th! the rest of the battling w@nkers rise to the occasion, as usual, against us. Watch those turkeys play to their usual "standard" next week.

To listen to Luke Darcy (who wasn't even playing) crap on about the bulldog "spirit" turned my stomach.

Until this club learns to bury the battlers, as Hawthorn did to fitzroy in 1986 and Melbourne in 1988 we will never be a champion team.

What can you say? I can't believe the turn-around from about the 15min mark of the 1st quarter. What happened? We were hard and had the dogs second guessing, it was the ideal way to play. Why did they stop?

I had a tirade like you wouldn't believe, but you're not worth it. So to, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. To any dickhead who bags Clement, Why don't you **** off and go support the bombers like I KNOW you do.

I think Collingwood needs to long long and hard at the coaching situation. To play Rusling and leave out Travis whas a huge risk, that backfired enormously. We never seem to have any tactical options and are very one dimensional. When we do make a move, it is too late the horse has bolted. Rotations are one thing but occasionally we need to pull a rabbit out of the hat, but MM never does. Never thinks outside the box, and we are too predictable to by half. We were smashed where we have been all year in the middle and at the clearances - can't get the footy forward if we don't have the damn ball! The goals are the opposite end from our backs - enough of this sideways and backwards crap!

I was really worried from about half way through the 2nd. Backs had nothin to kick too. Everyone stagnent. I thought if we'd lost our run at this stage we're in trouble.

Forwards muffed several opportunities for the first and a bit Qs. First Q we should have had 2 or 3 more on the board.

From there the Dogs smashed our mids. and we had no run. so can't blame our forwards or backs from then on. We also got done in the clearances, which IMO was where we needed to win the game.

From here the coaching staff need to make the big decision, do we have a crack next year or cut some near dead wood. Great servants & great blokes, but are we going to get the same result. Burns, Lica and Lockyer is their time up? They have another year in em. but at what cost to the future?

Was I the only one actually watching the game today...

Taz was our best forward by a mile just couldnt kick goals. Clemant was fantastic but got mauled with the delivery same with Presti. I think excluding R.Shaws mishap he was good. H.Shaw tried all day and daisy was pretty good. Tarks was goodish and the rest including buckley and didak were well down on form.

BTW didak was carrying an injury he will go under the knife in the off season.

Season 2006 will be remembered for our end to the year which is very disappointing. We showed in the first qtr the footy we are capable of but now we need to work on consistancey and playing out a full season.

I think it will be goodbye......
Rowe
Yakka
Cara
Morrison
Hall
Fanning
Walker
up to himself burns

The rest can stay unless we totally want to rebuild. Turning over 7 players is alot. I guess you can add Jason Cloke to that list but more for him as i would like him to stay.

smashed today with the bulldogs missing 4-6 players with season ending injuries was a poor effort.
Even effort from the bulldogs where we had none.
do we have to rebuild by having a cleanout? 2003 was our last finals assault thats 3 years ago a lot of the players from that game are playing still do we delist/trade some of them?
Is micks time up? where are we on micks clock now?
some tough decisions to be made before next season?

Oooooooh... what can I say. Sitting there at the G there were moments when I just couldn't watch.

Axing players? Why? Most of them have room for improvement, particularly the younger ones. And we need the oldsters (mostly) still. I would resist the urge to recruit old past their prime players for a quick fix next year - unless its Akermanis!

My impressions:

Johnson: Industrious mostly. Good run, usual haphazard delivery into the forward line hurt us. Not overly accountable when he had to be either. Can play better if he learns to stay on his man at times. The runs forward are fine but if his delivery to the forwards leads to a turnover, then half the time its his man on the end of that turnover. Still a mostly okay game.

R. Shaw: Got lots of possession out wide but not good when it got hot. Another one off his man mostly. Waits for the ball coming to him far too often. Was out-marked/spoiled a number of times because of this habit. Needs to get harder if he is to improve. Too fond of the easy ball for my liking.

Buckley: Not his best. Greatness can only go so far I guess.

Lockyer: Tried hard mostly. Was one of the more creative forwards I think. Didn't get a lot of support often.

O'Bree: Good in parts but went missing as he sometimes does when he should have been standing up. Another one who needs to work on his mental toughness maybe. Should have been thrown in as a small forward at some stage to counter the Dogs constant crumbing of our stalled attacks.

Licuria: Tried hard but them legs ain't what they used to be. Short passed and hand-balled often when he should have gone long.

Clement: Not dominant today through no fault of his own. Couldn't really achieve much due to the positive way the Dogs moved the ball in. Lacked support from the half back line often. Found himself doing the half back running role at times because the HB's weren't doing it.

Lonie: Who? Played out of position and seemed lost. One of the few with the brains when he did get it to bang it long rather than arse about with negative short chips and hand-passes. Has been clearly frustrated at times during the year with that style of game. Often has made positive position in previous games but ignored by the chippers. Didn't even bother doing that today.

Tarrant: Showed some good signs but the kicking! Most frustrating forward in the league. Didn't get up the ground as much as usual for some reason. Like most of the forwards was isolated against multiple Dogs too often. A hard game to judge but I guess his poor kicking when it counted tells against him. Second efforts were lacking.

Burns: Seemed out of sorts today. His work rate was well down and his toughness in the packs seemed to be missing. Was he 100% fit or did time catch up with the old warhorse today?

Swan: Had no real impact and once again short passed too much. Like Heath Shaw too often substitutes a junk sideways/back pass for genuine forward movement. Needs to be disciplined more for this bad habit. Forward run was negligible today. May learn from this first finals outing.

Fraser: Never seemed switched on today. Got around the ground a bit but lacked support when he needed it. Kicked poorly also for a change. Ruck work was not positive enough either. Too often was substituting for Tarrant up the ground. Beaten by both Dogs rucks today.

H. Shaw: Got a bit of the ball but too often guilty of junk passing rather than go long. Needs to be disciplined for this as he does it too often when the team is under pressure (Eg against Essendon and today). Like Swan didn't get forward enough. Tried his guts out though. Mark today down to experience.

Thomas: Contested everything, applied pressure, passed creatively, tackled more than most of his team mates and showed again that he has real class. Showed a lack of match fitness after his injury once or twice but close to our best for effort. Copped a couple behind play from various Doggies (I bet those incidents don't show up on Monday) but stood up regardless. Can obviously play at this level.

Holland: Was apparently on the ground for much of the game. Gave little today apart from the junk time goals. Was burned off by his opponents too often. Minimal effort in the forward line most of the time. Will probably cop a holiday for the start of the season. Far from his best game.

Didak. Well held and didn't seem to be able to run today. Obviously carrying an injury. His linking play was absent today. Negligible impact.

Maxwell: Seemed lost at this level today. Passed poorly and responsible for too many turnovers and couldn't cope with a smaller opponent. Seems to have lost all confidence in his long kicking, which was a feature of game prior to breaking his leg. I feel will have O'Brien breathing down his neck next year but may get his confidence back with a good pre-season.

Presti: Tried hard as usual but like Clement ultimately overwhelmed by the Dog frequent attacks. Did a quite a few good things as you'd expect.

Rocca: Started well and tried at times but had little support around him when the ball went to ground. Seemed to lose all intensity after the second quarter. Question mark over his aerobic fitness. Probably should have been benched more than he was. Doesn't seem to team well with Rusling either. Like the other key forwards was a victim of the awful disposal into the forward area. Still, didn't make enough of his opportunities when he got them.

Egan: Seemed to be being played out of position but also was clearly overwhelmed by the occasion. Given his age, hopefully he'll learn from the occasion. Tackling was very ordinary at times and this will need to be worked on.

Richards: Got a share of the taps going but didn't hurt the opposition in any way. Needs to do a lot more around the ground. Needs as close to a full season as possible in order to show what he can do. Probably should have been brought consistently into the seniors earlier this year if that was possible. I question his match fitness at this level at the moment.

Rusling: Crowded forward line didn't suit him. Second efforts were negligible in this game. Couldn't give a lot of positive leads due to the lack of decisive kicking up field. Another one who suffered from poor delivery from the midfield. The experience will do him good however.

Malthouse: Didn't experiment enough. Needed to shuffle things about at the start of the Third but really didn't. Needs to excerpt more on-field discipline than he does. Allowed too much negative short play to go on unchallenged. Was out coached by Eade throughout much of the match. The TC/Rusling selection swap may be one of the big "what ifs" from the game.

Overall, I'm proud of the boys efforts to make the finals this year. it was a pity they couldn't have gone farther. Let's hope we see more improvement in 2007.
