No injuries that I know of.... Buckley may possibly be cited for elbowing Harvey to the face during a jumper wrestle (don't think there is that much in it but you never know...).

Archer got reported for a love tap to Tark's stomach but should get off as the slow mo showed that it was with his palm and low impact.
How would Siri know when to answer "Hey Siri" unless it is listening in to everything you say?

Buckley gave Harvey a whack. STUPID. Should get off if he's even cited, by why risk it? also gave him a tummy tap. Why, Bucks, why?

Thanks to the pox-ridden delayed telecast with large slabs of the game left out, I really don't know who the better players were. But for the parts of the game that Channel Nine actually bothered to telecast, here is how I saw it:

Down on the day but OK:
Rocca
Didak
Buckley
Rusling

Didn't do too much wrong, not really visible on the day:
Presti
Wakes
Holland
Burns
Richards

Decent to good game:
Fraser
O'Bree
Heater
Johnno
Rhyce Shaw
Clement
Swan

Notable improvers:
Egan
Maxwell
Liccuria
Lockyer
Lonie
Tarrant

Our best:
3: Lonie
2: Maxwell
1: Licuria
Unlucky to miss votes: Egan, Tarrant

Best on ground:
3: The North Melbourne full-back (I forget his name already!)
2: Lonie
1: Maxwell

The North full-back held big Ant (who did OK) effectively, and made his presence felt with telling marks and punching from behind. He kept North in it for 3 quarters, and kept on trying right to the end. 3 vote game for sure.

Ryan Lonie was just about the only Collingwood player with genuine penetration through the first three quarters, he ran hard, tackled hard, got under packs, covered the entire ground, kicked long and straight, and got amongst the goals when the rest of the side was buggerising about doing little. Possibly unlucky to miss out on my BOG award.

Maxwell was back to his real form. He held bigger players, had great teamwork, and lots of run. Great effort Maxi!

Licca ran all day and, for some unexplained reason, found he could kick 25 metres further than his usual bulls*it chip passes when the goals were in sight. Ran and ran to find space up forward and bagged 4 for his trouble - a fitting reward for effort.

Tarrant, although his scores came towards the end when it was raining goals, was most valuable as a hard-running winger/half-forward, especially in the first half when no-one else was starring, Taz ran to space, marked, and passed accurately. A very pleasing return.

Egan played his best game yet. None of his goals were gimmies and he worked hard in midfield too. Unlucky not to get a vote.

He figures we can beat Footscray without him. It's his sister's birthday next weekend and otherwise Mick wouldn't let him have the day off.

We actually start to really run the ball well in the third quarter ... problem was we were falling down at half forward. We were playing well but not quite clicking. Last quarter we clicked.

Down on the day but OK:
Rocca
Didak
Buckley
Rusling
I reckon Bucks and Dids played their roles well, Dids in the middle at times, too.

I don't disagree with you, J26. Perhaps what I should have written my heading more carefully, to be something like "down on the day compared to their usual fantastic standard". For mine, Bucks was something like our 6th or 10th best player - i.e., more than handy, and well worth his place. Anyone else putting in Bucks' game today I'd have said "good game". But for a champion like him, the standard of the "normal" is a bit higher. :)

Didak doesn't look 100% fit. He did his bit, was productive, but not the absolute devestator he can be. Again, down, but only by his own lofty standards.

Rocca went OK. He too seems a bit restricted in his movements, but he is starting to grab the pill and hold it more often than he lets it go; he's running harder, he's kicking more freely, his physical presence in the packs is starting to show, and he's doing nice little things at ground level too. I think if he can get the body right (I think he's getting close) he will be a real force in the finals. Hope so.

As for Rusling, he never got the chance to play his natural game as a leading forward on an open forward line. He was forced to try to mark against close-checking opponents, and the delivery to him wasn't far enough out in front. The midfielders need to learn to deliver the pill way out in front of Rusling, because he leads so hard and so fast - he will get there, and if he is at full pace still (i.e., doesn't have to slow his lead down to wait for the ball to arrive) he will be on his own. No full-back can keep up with him.

Tell me why you should. I do not understand. What time is it there? What colour are your eyes? Where are you located? That's alright. What are you wearing?
