Well...MM went out on the all out attack with his placings on Sunday with the hope of boosting our percentage.......the Essendon game may come back to haunt us...ie the top 4...
Either way, all things said & done we have had a ripper of a year in the context of our 15th place last year...
Entering the finals, we have important players who will be on the cusp of selection subject to fitness and matchings....
Given the poor doggies bad run with injuries this year ( so the media continue to highlight & by the way, welcome to the Club) we also have a few that will add to our depth & selection options over the next 3 weeks....
Iles,Richards and Rowe have played their last game for the2006 year, Richards perhaps his last for the Club..........and Rowe not a whole long way behind him for that matter...
In the warm up game for the finals we see Buckley & Tarrant re emerge..We have Wakeling & Cloke as Backline backups and both Thomas & perhaps even Leon making a surprise inclusion for our Forward line options.
Travis will only miss one week by the looks as he was virtually cleared of any damage other than servere bruising/soreness.
Throw in Pendelberry.............
Rocca back 'in town' to a degree ; it's now Tarrants turn...
Williamstown in the Finals to keep the players fitness on going...
Rusling...a wild card...the other finals contenders do not know how to match up exactly as they have not had a need to barring Port & Carlton...
Eagles & Crows having down time periods.............
Didak has stepped up to the plate BIG TIME....inspirational football which will be highlighted by the inner sanctums of the Club to all players..this has to impact in the thoughts and minds of most of them.......
&%%& that Essendon game!!!!

Unfortunately, Steve, it was '03, as 3D pointed out. But, hey, GF here we come.Am I right in thinking that its the first time that we have beaten the Blues twice in a season since 1990?
There's an omen.
We beat them three times that season, though, thumping them in the Wizard Cup opener, so technically, your omen stands.
Thank God Dids is off.
Well summed up. Action everywhere you looked. Got pretty tense in the stands, too.Never been to a game like that in my life.
Contraversy all over the place.
Cam, he has an extra hitout over Fraser, and his palming was actually handy. But he tapped it to the wrong blokes, save for a pearler (sorry, I cannot remember when, but it was great). We got absolutely smashed everytime Richards went into the middle.
Our second highest score against Carlton, ever.

Johnno we got smashed in the middle every minute Richards was contesting the bounces.
But he has to play next week, as does Rowe. It Richards can play as well as Street we will have a handy ruck combo.
Isles doesn't though he needs to go back and keep learning at Willi no rush there.

Get back on top.
Don't write Richards off just yet people. Agree with you J26. Tap work was okay for a guy who had been out so long. Main problem was that on-ballers weren't reading it and Carlton were picking it off. This will no doubt improve as they play together more. Josh reads the ball so well and is so good at the clearances that you could almost play him in the square with Richards as a pure follower! If he could just stay fit I reckon he would end up a really genuine frontline ruckman. What's his contract status anyone? Hope they keep faith with him.

He isn't even a quality Ruck he doesn't break even when on we usually lose all momentum and he will probably manage 5 games 1 a year until he beats Ben Kinnears Record run for most pointless player to have on a list for near on a decade.Tannin wrote:Yeah, fair enough 3rd degree, but how many of them will be senior games?
Yeah, and other better options are what?
A) Draft Gardner who is just as big an injury risk with less upside given his age and other issues.
B) Draft a kid and wait in hope for another 4 years.
C) Draft a ready-made ruckmen from another club. There are so many of them around after all. Which one will we chose!
D) Give him another year and hope he can finally get his body right.
Again, what is his contract status if anybody knows?

Great to see us win the game as we should have, although there were worrying signs when i saw the scores in the first quarter at work...
On another note, mods can you explain why i was banned over the weekend and then unbanned tonight again? I'm sure it's a mistake and no hard feelings, but i'm genuinely curious.
