Changes for this week?
In: Buckley & Tarrant (are they both fit?)
Out: Rowe & T Cloke
Seems the obvious two. Do we give Iles another game or bring back Pendles? Do we rest a few stars like Clement and Fraser prior to the finals if we find out before we play on Sunday that it is a 'dead-rubber' ie we can't make the top 4 because other results have gone against us (Freo and Melbourne winning)

If any others need to rest, that will come down to the club's fitness staff. It's pretty hard for us to guess whether Fraser, Clement, etc need a rest.
First week of finals we will hopefully have Magic, C3 and possibly Daisy to choose from.
We should still try and win this game by as much as possible to give us a higher percentage than St Kilda. I feel we would want to play the bulldogs at the MCG and to do that we will want to beat the Roos by a fair margin (assuming Melbourne lose against Adelaide and Freo and Sydney get up).

I'll think about the rests (if any) a little later. For now, just the other changes. Assume Bucks and Taz are both fit: then it's as you say, MS1986: Bucks and Taz for Rowe and T Cloke.
What about Iles? He's had 3 weeks to get a taste of the senior game now, and, as often seems to happen with first time players, perhaps tailed off a little week by week. 1st year players rarely step into the senior side and adapt to it right away, then keep that up for any length of time. Usually, they find their feet for a little while, then can't quite keep up the pace and need to be dropped back to the twos for a while while they recharge their batteries.
So Iles out this week (he will be back, be sure of that) to work on his game and think through what he has to do to command a regular senior spot.
In comes Pendles, who has had a couple of weeks recovery time and could maybe use one last orientation game before the finals start. Ideally, Iles won't play again this year, but he'd certainly be in the mix if we needed to replace a small because of injury.
BTW: I don't really see the point in playing Iles in the back pocket. I see him as a HB/centre/HF type of player. In the future, I can see him as a centreman or even 1st rover. For now, matchups permitting, I'd pick him on a HB or possibly even HF flank, and (if he does play against the Shinboners) give him a few runs in the middle.
Damn it! I've nearly talked myself into playing him agaoin this week. But no: Pendles in for sure.

On another note, the only reason why I am keeping Richards in the team, is to provide poor Fraser some relief. Otherwise Richards for me, would be dropped and than delisted at seasons end.
I cant believe that this is the sixth season that has been put into him and yet he has learnt nothing about the art of rucking! I understand all the stuff about injuries, but his ruckwork is terrible! He has absolutely no purpose in his ruckwork and just taps it anywhere. Most went directly to Carlton players which is why they killed us in the clearances!
At seasons end we must make finding a ruckman the number one priority! Two years for Everitt anyone??? Couldn't do any worse than now!

There's a lot of talk about resting players this week. I'm not sure if you want to do that one week before the finals. If we were going to do that, we should have been doing it for the last couple of weeks.
We want to go into the finals with a settled team. We don't want to start making major changers in the first week. I know on paper, resting players sounds good, but in reality, you need a settled team.
Out: T.Cloke, Iles, Pendles
In: Bucks, Taz, Rowe
