saw it on sports tonight, hard to say but it didn't look that bad. Maybe 1 week at worst, and we can handle that.

It is always nice to beat the enemy and credit to both teams for a display of fantastic Aussie Rules Victorian style. Now that's what the fans love to watch instead of the interstate flooding crap.
I just love a good cakewalk!

great win after a slow start, the boys finished the game off quite well which is pleasing.Anthony was fantastic, led well, delivery was much better and he read the play very well and held his marks-a great confidence booster.
Good signs from Egan! as the commentators remarked,he looked much more comfortable out there today-might be a future there.

A bit concerned about Didaks elbow(a touch high from where I was watching)- certainly head high but without malice- they did kiss and make up after the game.so heres hoping.
one-eyed pie and proud of it

Lonie on the bottom of packs... Lica back into Form, Rocca back into form... Rus on fire, Both shaw's fantabulous... What else could you ask for?

936 AM band had Radio National call the game with Stan Alves, Drew, Molloy and co - painted the house in Beaudesert while listening!

One on Goldspink... I know we *generally* got the better of the umpires today, but if all that Jeff Gieshen can say about Goldspink is that 'he is a great bouncer' or that 'he calls it as he sees it', then he must retire.

Surely one of the other key elements of umpiring is being able to control the game and the players. He gets no respect from them and you'll find a common denominator in many of the melees during the past 3 years - one D Goldspink umpiring.

Even if Gieshen reckons he is a good umpire and umpires 'by the letter of the law', he *never* umpires in the spirit of the game. The amount of times players get free for staging is remarkable with him.

Take today, we got on the good side of it. There was plenty of pushes, high contact, couple of jumper punches, etc. He picks out a couple. A couple out of easily 10-20.... that incites players further. You want to get rid of melees? Run back and bounce the ball in the centre and see which players then don't focus on the ball. I'll give you the tip, the ones that don't will immediately be summoned to the bench by the coach! Once play has started as usual, walk up to the ones that did a reportable offence and put them in the book. Could even do it at the end of the half/quarter - guarantee you will not lose control of the game.....

Imagine if we were on the wrong side of it in a grand final....

p.s. handy win! Wonderful atmosphere, the boys kept their heads which was pleasant to see. Plenty more fireworks in finals!

How costly our loss to Essendon and/or Fremantle now after Freo's win over WC? We would have 3rd spot wrapped up with a trip to Adelaide week one, and I would be very confident. Now, we may even be facing two trips to WA before the GF. Nearly impossible task.

We must see which route to the GF is easiest (now we need Melbourne to defeat Adelaide so Week 2 may be Melbourne at the G). We play Sunday, so we can manipulate our result, even resting many stars and 'tanking' for a better position.

P.S. Didak's bump was fair, Scotland ducked into him as soon as he saw Dids coming at him at the last minute. Common sense should prevail to keep our game HARD.

Just as well Richards was back as he was needed to allow Josh to go down forward at times to cover the loss of Travis. I was rapt to see Maxwell and Lonie back to their best. I suppose next week Taz and Bucks will come straight back in for Travis and Rowe. So long Rowe, it's been good to know you.
