We want Freo to thrash Stkilda (to lower Stkildas %)....then Freo to lose against Westcoast, and Melbourne to lose against Adelaide....Magpiefan3 wrote:With Adelaide and Sydney losing, who do u want me to win 2nite Fremantle or St Kilda???. We also need Melbourne to lose 2morrow against the Kanagroos.
of coarse pies to win their remaining games well with a % boost.
If this happens pies are almost assured of top 4 posi.

let's be fair though, most people here bag Tony Shaw when he makes negative comments about the pies, and he too was a Collingwood captain.Eunos wrote:Of course an ex-Collingwood Captain would know less about the Pies than you Peter.............PeterWH wrote: Teach that Williams a thing or to also about THE PIES......
Bring on next week.......

It's taken me until today to get over that performance........OH MY JOCK!!
When Rocca missed that one in the 2nd qtr (that would've put us 39 pts up I think) I thought "no biggie, we're five and a half goals up anyway"
AAARRRGHHH
Interesting to note that everyone's been saying how good Jonno was - personally, I'd get rid of him now. How many times did his kicks not come off? How often did he try to take the man on and stuff it up? Burgoyne was HIS man and he absolutely KILLED us.
Bye bye taz....it's been a frustrating relationship, but we've got Rus now. It'd be nice if Egan would stop getting in his way though!
I concur with everyone here - Heath Shaw was fantastic. Occasionally his disposal isn't brilliant, but I love the way if he stuffs up, he turns around and fights to make up for it (that bulls*&t free kick that resulted in a goal for the Pooves, Shaw kicked the next one on the run from outside 50).
Burnsy owes us all some heart medication - my brother didn't appreciate the beating his couch took from me when Burns missed.
not pretty, but I love rippin their hearts out in the last 30 seconds......

How many times did Jonno's kicks not come off? Two or three at most. How many times did he try to take his man oin and stuff it up? Maybe twice. How many times did he get the hard ball out? Too many to count. How many times was he in the right place to take the handball from a player under pressure and then do something useful with the ball? About 12.
He ran, he got the ball. He tackled. He passed. He kicked long to the corridor. And he attacked with the ball - he kicked it fast and low to a player closer to the goals than he was. Compare that with the disposal of Holland and Licca on the night. Johhno did more than those two combined. So did Heater. Rhyce Shaw showed enough to give us confidence that he is on the way back, and Swan was great.
In the end, I gave my three votes to Buckley for his outstanding leadership on top of his other contributions, but if it hadn't been for Buckley's mega-mark and goal, then Jonno was the best afield in black and white. (No disrespect to Heater, who was superb also.)

I've just read the full 7 pages on this thread and I'm amazed that not 1 single person mentioned what an absolute bag of shite game Travis Cloke played, especially when needed in the 2nd half.He did not TOUCH the ball after half time, is slow and took his eye off the footy AGAIN.Idon't think he has what it takes.O'bree got plenty of the ball but his disposal is woeful as is Hollands.Heater brilliant as was JC.Buckley must play in the mid field as he is our most creative player.Got to be happy with the win .Go the kangas today and all we have to do is win our last 2 games and we have the double chance. Simple as that.

Oh my god!
You umpired??
And you admit it?
Oh Peter, all your posts over all these years have now been put into perspective. You are just another white maggot. Your family have my sympathies. I understand now why you find it so hard to string two coherent words together......
Back to your original point. You decided that MW knew nothing about Collingwood. The fact that he spent several years at the club in the same position as our exalted leader, Buckley, shows that he knows more than you, and yes, more than me.
I'll be very interested to read, no make that decipher, your first post if MW is made coach of Collingwood.
To answer your other question, yes, I did play the greatest game in the world.

Funny how much a second viewing can change perception.
I was getting ready to bag Egan for basically doing nothing in the whole match.
Having re-watched the game he did several very good things and deserves to stay in the side. Mudlark I agree about Trav, you could pick out at least half a dozen players who underperformed, badly.
The trouble is we can't actually drop any of them because it seems that most of our outs next week will be chosen for us (injury or suspension).
