Post Match - Pies gallant vs Crows by not enough
S'pose we need one of these.
Very proud of our side, worked very hard and arguably deserved the win.
Well played.

This was a do or die game. A chance to show everybody that they can win when its really needed akin to finals footy. I'm not into this we played alright considering.........We should not be rating this team as being better than us hence we did well coming close. May as well have lost by 100. Not happy. It was up for grabs and we let it slip when it counted.

Few of positives, J Cloke, what about that courageous mark, Iles, despite a few errors good first game considering the pressure, Licca getting back some form.Thomas, Egan Shaw, T Cloke. all good signs. Clement, Presti, Lonie Lockyer and Didak all good. Fraser's continued courageous efforts. Imagine if he had help!
Negatives, high kicks to forwards when flooding happening. How can they mark 3 on 1? Still playing indirect, we were winning well at the start by playing direct.
At the end of the day a couple of handballs and we may have won!! Thnak goodness Melbourne and St Kilda lost as our percentage , if we win the next few will will help us.

Stayed with arguably the best team in the comp all game. Great effort, disappointed not to win though. Can't single out anyone for costing us the game, but Josh - the simple handball to Anthony, even so I thought we had a couple go for difficult shots when they might have looked for an option in a better position (even Bucks!).
Edit: piepower beat me to it!
Dids will certainly get off that report, won't he?
As soon as the 5 minute warning came on I started the stopwatch. I'm a little mystified because by my reckoning there was at least 16 seconds left in the match, and I can't believe I missed that much time.

According to most reports I have read Collingwood lost Jason Cloke to injury in the second quarter. There was someone doing an excellent impersonation of C1 then as he played a great game in defense in the second half.
Journalist get paid good money to report on these games yet time and time again get basic facts wrong.
We didn't deserve to win last night. However we played good, hard football and a win would have been a good result. I think it is time to rest Ant, he is not playing with any level of enthusiasm.

I don't think either team deserved to lose, or win for that matter. A grippingly intense game which proved we can match it with the best. Always left empty after a loss but very proud of the effort.
Crows had momentum late in the 3rd up until midway through the last. We did well to almost snatch it from them.
About the least disappointed I've felt after a loss

Lonie did a great job on Burton.
Both the Clokes were good.
Egan continues to develop.
Lica kind of nullified Goodwin.
Buckley's finishing & Tyson Edwards killed us.
I was standing at the TV giving the bird from point blank to that fat crows moron giving it to Taz as he lined up. How I wish that goal had gone through - but Egan will have a bit of trouble shepherding on the line, WTF were some of our big bodies?

Very proud of the boys. The endevour was there, and with some luck, could be argued that we should have won. Johnno answered the call well and put behind his inglorious week, wish Taz couldve done likewise, but still only a fair game. I reckon Pebs must be carrying an injury, think he is down on confidence, but just a gut feeling he's not 100%. Iles had a good debut and showed good composure for a first gamer. J.Cloke showed he has still much to offer and to work with (IMO). Dids plyed well and is looking very dangerous, pity he couldnt put it all on the scoreboard last night. As for his indiscresion, is a monty to get off...however, cringe everytime he sticks his boots/feet out....bad habit (please get rid of it Dids!!!!!). Frase is in great form, and if he had the support he/ we would flourish, needs back-up!! Backline geat, keeps on keeping on. Swanny and Heater...best things to come out Pieland this year (IMO). Daisy..great and courageous. He'll be ok, hit ground hard but, due to his "mop top", the springs buffeted his fall somewhat.
Pretty much happy overall, wish Taz and Pebs had dominating games, then we would have romped it in I reckon. The "team" performance overall was extremely pleasing. Thats what I wanted to see. If we build on that in the coming weeks, and we can put on scoreboard pressure, then we are still in good shape!
GO PIES!

Great comments Ska. Another player who deserves a good rap was Trav. He is getting better and better every game. Is really becoming a pleasure to watch.skaman wrote:Very proud of the boys. The good thing, the great thing about the boys last night was they just kept going they never let down, this is finals footy they are playing, not perfect footy but they lift themselves to the occassion and that's exactly EXACTLY what you need in a finals team.
These boys are the REAL thing, few problems with tarrant and rocca, and skill errors but that's footy (although i think Tarrant might be a bit serious seeing we need him to fire in finals).
Really good effort, the only way i would have been happier is with a win, but this is fine by me. Please stop fooling yourselves by saying "a win is everything" because yes it is but they played bloody well and they are doing it week in week out.
The King will hold the premiership cup up!
