We have lost the plot totally. How can a team play so good for 9 wins and then play so badly? Did we play above ourselves? I think so. I know its not the end of the season just yet, but we are in a HUGE slump, and i cannot see us turning it around next week vs WCE. If we cant beat the shockers then who knows whats going to unfold next week.
Our skills and decision making are shocking, we get sucked in to trash talk and give away far too many stupid free kicks, and our shots in front of goal are awful. Oh, and our tackling is shithouse too.
Maybe the players started to think this season was just going to unfold their way with minimal effort after 9 great wins, but now spots for the top 8 are up for grabs, it seems most teams want it more than us.
Ive just had about enough of this shit - granted, i understand where we were last year, but show some effort and pride boys, the season is slipping fast. A loss next week and they might as well book that end of season trip. And Brodie Holland isnt the answer to this shithouse form.
Rant over.
On a postive note, Pendles played great, and AT LAST we went in with two ruckmen, Josh looked dangerous up forward at times, leave Fanning in and let him develop.
Go Pies.

Only heard the call of the game so far.
Some of the tough questions that need to be asked -
1. How can a half fit Carr get more posessions than any Pies player ?
2. How did Bell get more posessions than Carr - unaccountable midfield ?
3. Why would we play a loose midfield when Freo have a far better ruck than us ?
4. Why are the players (Pies) skills so very poor ? Why is there is no skills coach ?
5. Why have we become a piss weak team of soft players with no guts ?
We really need to play players now who WILL put in and not merely look like they are putting in.
Pendles really showed the way and the more he is played the better he will get.
We must trade for a ruckman this year.
Freo are not a top 4 side and the Pies are not a top 8 side as MM would have challenged each and every player over the last 2 weeks after the Demons and Richmond non efforts - and these so called professionals have not responded at all.
Make the changes now and play the players who will stand up and send the others off to the Gulls to play out the season.
Tough times call for tough measures.
The Eagles will be dying to get here next weekend and the Pies are soft, soft, soft and will be smashed by the WCE.

We really are a classy midfielder short of being a real threat in the finals. Our delivery to the forward line is borderline pathetic. Too many times we go to a small forward leading out to the pockets when we have a fast break from the middle. Buckley seems to be the only player in our midfield who can hit a leading forward with a 40 metre pass.
Licuria and Obree are great ball acumulators but just dont hurt the opposition as much because they dont penetrate the 50 metre arc enough and when they do it is more of 30m soft lob then a spearing pass on the tit of one of our forwards.
Not saying that their contribution is not required as they are fantastic in and under but we need more players who can kick strong hard passes to a leading forward. We have a good forward line but opposition teams realise this and will throw up to three or for back just to cover Rocca so entry to the forward line needs to be quick and accurate to a target. When the ball hit the deck today there was so many Fremantle players there to mop up, and it makes you wonder Leon Davis was left on the pine for so long. I thought maybe they could of thrown Benny Johnson into the middle as he is a player who on his day can spear in a nice long pass.
After today Akermanis doesnt look like a bad option. But Pendlebury is coming along very nicely and will be good with a full preseason under his belt next year. I think it is safe to say that this year won't be our year but to make the finals and maybe scare a few teams if we hit some form will be a good effort with the team where it is now. Remember Dane Swan, Heath and Rhyce Shaw, Dale Thomas and of course Pendles will all be better for a full season under their belt and finals experience will be wonderful for them.
Jason Cloke I thought played well on Pavlich and was tough to be switched off him, Pavlich took a few marks when the ball was delivered to him superbly and he got a few free kicks that might of made it seem that he had the upperhand but I thought there was a couple of incidents where Cloke beat Pavlich comprehensively. Jas Cloke has earned the right to in our team and has played well enough to warrant selection again.
Ryan Lonie, geez its tough to say because I do like his new hard tackling game but several times when the ball was there to be won at ground level he waited for someone else to go in and get it. You simply cant afford to stop and wait for someone else to get the footy especially against a team which run in numbers so well like Fremantle did today.
As for Rocca and Tarrant I dont have many complaints (And I know many on this site will), because the ball is brought to them so poorly and we didnt have the smalls front and centre when the ball hit the deck often enough. Dale Thomas did it well a few times but also got in the way of Rocca and Tarrants leads on the odd occasion but this will improve with time and experience. Tarrant does need to convert these important shots to goals for us and it so disappointing when he could really turn a game for us.
Leon Davis had to be left on the ground in the forward line but maybe still battling with some soreness and thats why he spent so much time off the ground.
