Agreed Dave at least we lifted as a side against the blues in that 3rd quarter against the blues supporters in december. If 27 hadn't hogged it we might have been in with a shot!

Did anyone see in the replay showing Bucks getting choked by a Saints player while waiting for a ball ? Surely this is beyond the pale !! Where are the match review committee ?? Was glossed over by the Nine commentary team they were having too much fun denigrating the Pies ... in particular one G. Lyon.

True champ that Bucks is still took the mark.
Let all your troubles be forgot for we are Collingwood. We'll fight it out until the end we're Collingwood. So help me Jock.

The thing is ...what is different to our team now than what it was 2-3 weeks ago....the players should still be superbly fit etc..what has changed..the coaching..something at the club...the way we are playing smacks of 2005. The confidence to take em on and attack...the way I see it it is pretty pathetic when a bloke like Burns only gets virtually half a game..and stars..put him up forward..try something Mick!!..Even Presti had a GUT full...it got to the stage when he was taking em on and thinking ..BUGGER this..and going for an attacking sorty forward..it rings in my ears what Rocca said just before the Bye...along the lines of...lucky its the break..I would have preferred to have the rest if we had to play...Tarrant..I'd love to see him kick Arse...the kid...and I'll call him a kid..he got the whole bloody world on him at the moment..and its getting to him..why would'nt it...I hope someone instills the view and atttitude of saying stuff this..I've got the skill..the physique..the strength and the abillity to kick arse..I'm just going out there and take a few speckies and play for the hell of it.. Thomas..he'll be a bloody good footballer..but at the moment he's a tadpole in a Frog pond..the team has'nt got the muscle nor nous to protect him until he matures..danger of ruining a career if they don't watch themselves on this one...., Morrison...get rid of him..he looked good when all the lateral backline passes were heading his way, but he is not and attacke-hes a gap plugger..he looks smart and plays dumb..
Things can turn around quickly..the clubs most potent investment is their experienced proven players..use them wisely Mick..otherwise we'll be talking about what players can lift the club in 2007 by the 17th week!!!

my post-match review:

went to brighton beach on the weekend (cool place, nick cave lives there - legend!), so missed getting up at 5am to listen to the game. got home and checked the website, saw the scoreline, swore profusely. still haven't watched the game on the web - not in the mood for masochism this week.

cheers and go pies!

Panic stations if we lose to Freo, but at the moment everything is fine down this end. I expected a mid season slump like this with sucha young side. As long as it doesnt hit just before September.

Mick is a coach that coaches for september. We should be right. big games against the dockers though!!

If he is coaching for september he bloody better get the players thinking they can win the games to get there 12 wins seems a leap year away on our present form. Not that I'm been at all negative. As for g.lyon he is a good friend of yorrick " Yorrick Hunt".

We should get to September, and i Mick knows how to get their. He has coached for more than 20 years, and has been in september finals series a lot, can u believe it he will be the only experienced coach in the finals series this yr (if we get their), there will be no Sheedy, no Pagan and Matthews, all the rest are up and young coaches.
Mick knows a lot about September.

Oh how I agree. I think it may have been BT who highlighted how Goddard (I'm pretty sure it was) was trying to eliminate all oxygen from his lungs. I suppose it is the only way anyone can stop him. Lucky for Bucks he took the mark, because you can bet your bottom dollar that the free wouldn't have been coming his way.

I wouldn't fret about September. Surely we can win at least another 3-4 matches, at the very least. This side is too good to drop away. There is a massive gulf between 10th-11th and 12th onwards.

Listening to the first five minutes on Triple M, I was thinking about phoning my uncle to get the tape out for the whole game when replayed on FoxFooty. Sadly, as soon as that thought registered in my mind...
but that is not what has got everyone up in arms its how we have been losing not that we have been losing. This team better bloody grow a pair of balls quick smart if they want to have any influence on September there is no point being there just to make up the numbers.
Hit the nail on the head. We've barely raised a yelp in three of our past four matches.
Will certainly be interesting to see this weeks In & Outs!!
I'd be hoping for/looking for Fanning, Tex, Davis and Jason Cloke. I'd like to give Tex another chance as a forward.

SoS, I agree re Licca. He hasn't seemed to be as damaging as in previous seasons, but that said, he still managed to rack up the numbers and do his job. Still in our top ten players this season.

I think we are seriously suffering with 1 ruckman. Josh is tired and getting beating more often than not. Rocca showed more in the ruck against the saints. Fraser was beaten by first year player Rix who went forward and looked dangerous, and also was more damaging in the ruck. Im sure Malthouse considered the Saints ruck division to be the weakness and he could get away with 1 ruckman...but 2 crap ruckman combined really wore Josh down. I doubt Guy will pull up this week...maybe it is time to bring in Fanning as a specialist backup ruck. Odds are mick will bring in jason or trav as a replacement, and thats probably better than the stocks we had last week...but neither are really effective in the ruck. They do give an effort however.

With Sandilands and Longmuir, we will have to top up our rucking stocks this week. Sandi could give Fraser the biggest spanking in the ruck ever

Play Fanning in the ruck and Fraser up forward. Play long and direct football to stop flooding tactics. Play taz in Willy until finals. Replace him with Rusling. Play T Cloke in CHB 3 qtrs and CHF in the final qtr.

Play Holland as a tagger. Come finals, play Cara as a forward and midfielder.

If we can spank Freo this week Collingwood could gain some much needed confidence. the next few weeks will be helpful in building up our confidence.

Rusling did even less than Tarrant in his first game back. I dont know whether replacing one of our better forwards with a teenage is the best idea at this stage. Thats what we'd do if we were no hope of making finals and wanted to employ a youth policy. Play our best team at the moment...because that is the team that has got us to 4th on ladder at this stage.

However i dont mind the idea of bringing in Fanning and using T CLoke down back

Bucks up forward, Taz on a wing or HFF, Trav at CHB and back up ruck, or maybe Fanning cos Sandilands is a bloody giant. Hope Davis plays. Does anyone know if Brodie is close to coming back?
Congrats Bucks, on a great return! Bring on the Crows!
