Not a consistent game but kicked three goals and took mark of the week, which is a pass grade for a forward pocket - you'd take that input every week from your second most important small forward.
Agree!

However, His (leon) defensive skills are near non existant. Tackles are broken, doesn't chase enough or concentrate when manning up. If he bought that into his game he'd still be contributing when he does't get a lot of it. He was not where the ball was falling in the forward line, which where he should have been. Instead he was leading and trying to be an loose option wide. Not good WW footy. Sums up our whole approach to the game.

Like the saying goes balance and mix in you team. We can't have all in and under types just like we can't have all outside players. We need a good balance of both. Thats why we can't have Davis and Egan in the same side. Very simlar players and simlar sort of output.

Thats why Morrison should have been in. Especially while Brodie is out.
A mix in the back line, in the middle and in the forward line. Workers and finishers. too many of either and we will struggle. On occasions you get a bloke like Bux who can do both!

Not good. Disappointing after last weeks great win against Swans.

A lose next week could see us fall from 3rd to 6th!! Got some important games coming up, need to find consistencey if we are going to be real contenders.

We have seen that we have all the things we need to make it, just gotta put it together on the day.

Hopefully the roof shut at the dome will help us...

I can barely remember the first half, I feel like I was sitting through some kind of surreal nightmare. I've never seen Collingwood play worse. I don't mind us being beaten fair and square, but it looked like we weren't even trying.

On a personal level, this was my son's first trip to the MCG (we live in Castlemaine) and I'm sorry that his first memory of the MCG will be associated with the worst game of footy I think I've ever seen.

Ah well there's always next week!

It is a shame, but I hope he enjoyed himself regardless of the result, hopefully the next time he gets to go the Pies get up for him. :)

ummm....wasn't leon injured? hasn't he played a vital role in our winning games this season? isn't he an attacking style of player - don't we have more than half our team capable of playing defensive games? would you really prefer farmer, medhurst, milne etc. to leon? do you just like bagging leon? do you just like bagging any player that is not perfect all the time?

What a complete load of BS.
When the pressure is on Leon never stands up, go ahead and attempt to argue against the facts rather than spamming the forum with BS.

jeeze, that's a bit tough isn't is miz? wasn't he injured early in the piece, that's what i heard?

as far as arguing my case rather than "spamming the forum with BS", well i thought that's what i was doing! is it possible for you to respond without abuse?

i consider some of the tougher games this year:
round 7 West Coast - 20 disposals, 3 goals 1 behind, 8 in50's
round 10 brisbane - 12 disposals, 2 goals 2 behinds, 3 in50's
round 12 sydney - 15 disposals, 1 goal 3 behinds, 2 in50's
reasonably serviceable for a forward pocket, wouldn't you say?
or even this year when he was in hiding against Melbourne
11 disposals, 3 goals, 3 in50's - hardly "in hiding".

his productivity around goal has increased greatly as well this season.

if you want to go and find these mythical 4 players that you can replace davis, o'bree, lonie and taz with, well you go down to williamstown and find them and tell us all about them.

His (Leon) offensive game has been at its best.

But thats no excuse for not applying solid defensive work. FFS their supposed to be proffesionals at what they do! Been saying this win or loss. But anyway I'll stop ranting, Just my two cents thats probably overvalued!

If Leon is not in the top 3 or 4 forward pockets going around this year I'll go he. He's kicked 23 goals in 13 games on track for nigh on 40 by the end of the year. Half those games he's had 15 possessions or more and he's worked his arse off.

Not turning up to play is a more team thing not purely an individual thing. Its like the flu. Like the Crows did, we didn't play hard enough early against Richmond, and gave them a sniff that they took full advantage of.

O'Bree is dying in the proverbial, I hope he can fight back into form and shake his tags.

Cmon boys sink the boots into the millionaire saints this week.
Get back on top.

This week is an eight point game. If we are to be a chance in the finals we have to win this one.

An appalling game that i think we should put down to bad management overall from everyone. I dont think we had hardly any positives at all to take out of it and a truck load of negatives. Just one thing can the panel please leave Egan in the 2nds for the rest of the year and give him another full pre season before he ventures out again he was disgraceful!!

I am just watching the replay now and I tell you what, there is one simple reason for us losing and his name is Krakeor! (dunno how you spell it) the kid was fantastic, just fantastic, destroyed every opponent we put on him, and at crucial moments kicked goals, set up goals, won contested possesion, picked the soogy ball cleanly up off the deck, just a sublime game, I had no idea from watching the highlights or listening to the radio just what a gamebreaker the kid was, probably near to the best game of his career!

anyway, just had to mention it, GO PIES!
go pies!
