None have mentioned Daisy tap through traffic to Didak for a right foot goal. that was as good a highlight as Pendles stripping of Willo or Racers 180 twist and goal. It was just so suttle maybe many missed it!!|

Yes I just checked it out on the online replay, pretty good and the Didak goal was brilliant of course, but the Rhyce goal must be close to goal of the week. Slo-mo doesn't really do it justice, at full speed looking at it a couple of times the speed and fluency of it was suberb.

Racers goal was a gem!! :D
Thomas does those brilliant things and I rekon he meant it it was'nt just a punch foward it was more of a tap to Did's went unnoticed to most but Dids gave him credit for it after he kicked it!!
All exciting stuff! Gets the mind off the soccer! bloody penalty that was not there. Bloody umpire must have seen the slide came well before Grosso decidede to go over Neill. History now.......

Mossi I thnk you have been in Europe too long getting that excited about soccer! No I guess it must grow on you (sort of like watching grass grow?) - 3 or 4 billion fans can't all be wrong I suppose.
Yep no doubt that Thommo meant that tap when you play the replay a couple of times - the great thing about online replay. I prefer to replay it in real time for the most part.

Your probably right Bokka, It's hard not to get involved in the soccer when your surrounded by Italian fans and well we were going well!
There are side benefits with beeing a Pie fan oversees. I have managed to get 4 new sopporters during the last 5 years who have never set foot on the MCG. They absolutely love the game and are Tarrant Buckley and of course Rocca fans!! One of them is a Phys Ed teacher who takes out the sherron every once in a while and teaches the boys how to drop punt the ball!!

just wanted to make a couple of extra points re the game,
they tried to play richards as a defensive HF on Heath and it bombed.
they tried to play Kirk on O'Bree and it worked pretty well for them.
we tried to play Rhyce on Williams and it went brilliantly for us.

it's interesting to note that a) O'Bree is considered our number 1 tag prospect.

b) Heath is now attracting attention from opposition coaches to stop his influence.

c) Rhyce is back to his offensive tagging best and will provide a great option for people like Johstone, Judd and Macleod! His disposal in the first q was sloppy but he gets to all the right places and hopefully will be a bit more purposeful with the full game under his belt. his kick for goal in the first didn't miss by much....

Pendlebury who set up that shot on goal by Rhyce when he floated in front of Lewis-Thomson and brought the ball to ground for Rocca to crumb didn't pick up to many stats, but when he touches the ball something always happens, and he can lay a tackle too! if he manages to rack up a 20+ touch game he could turn a game of his own boot.

Also, Egan can kick it a country mile to a running target, just watching that passage early in the first when Lonie delivered to Leon who misses the set shot, the pass out of the backline from Egan is 50m+ and 'centimeter perfect' for the running Lonie. not too much later he (Egan) did his smooth crumb and pass to Licca for a goal, so just in the first quarter he would have had two goal assists if Leon had of kicked straight, and he would have probably had a goal himself if Roccas brilliant sideways pass had hav been adjudged 15 (i think it was). So that's 3 goals he would have had a direct hand in in one quarter of footy if the winds had blown in our favour, thats not a bad return!
Also he is very fast! and only 19!

speaking of lonie, he Looks a much more complete player nowadays, can play wing or half back or tag the taller players through the middle, extreemly versatile and a lethal kick, great to see him find his spot in the 22. that tackle he laid on Goodes 6 minutes from time in the first should have been holding the ball if it wasn't a push, and I don't think it was a push.

on Trav in the Ruck, I think he looks very good when he doesn't try to compete in the air and comes to ground fast to attack the crumb, if he can become a negator of the oposition tapman and provide an extra number at ground level he could be an excellent proposition at centrebounces, he is just so good below his knees for a big bloke.

Also he and Bucks can lay some ferocius tackles for us in the middle.

Also what was up with the kicking for goal, I mean noone could kick that night, it was amazing! Even Nick Dead Eye Dick Davis couldn't convert from a set shot!!

Egan and Rhyce had a hand in the comeback with the passage that led to Johnsons goal in the third after we hadn't managed on for 15 minutes too.

... as did Pendlebury recieving from Bucks to deliver to Dids for the second...

and Pendlebury to the hotspot for Rhyce's crumb, spin and goal for the third...

and of course Egan converting the set shot for the forth!

So when the chips where down and the comeback was needed, these where the kids that stood up!

Great to see!!!!

Great observations CJ I was impressed by the young brigade as well. Their work behind the scene is great. You have to watch the game live and then the TV replay to apresciate all the goings on!! :)
