Whilst better players play brilliantly for Williamstown for little chances, you want to give someone who has been shit for Willy to get a free ride for a few weeks?Troppo wrote:Pretty much as we have witnessed in past games from C1 and C2.eddiesmith wrote:
And just as many, if not more stupid things
e., give young egan some space mate. Not every youngster excells from their opening games, he just needs match time to get his feet and display his silky skills. It's called building for tomorrow.
Damn, after every game C1 and C2 plays we get 20 people running through every mistake they made and ignoring the good things which outnumber the bad, but Egan deserves more of a chance than them
I guess I live in a fantasy world where people have to earn respect, earn their spot and earn our patience, so far Egan has shown zilch at any level, but maybe I am more pissed off at him as I see him failing at Willy whilst most dont...
Hehe, that train driver was funny! That was great fun! Glad you had a nice time over here Kaylene, was good to meet you!fan4collingwood wrote:Started out with meeting a few NickStars at Central Station, with Tarrant in the pocket giving an inspiring speech akin to the Cricketers speech, Foxy and Joffa would have loved it. Even getting heckled by the Train Driver!

Yeah we were chanting on the train aswell and this dickhead was sure we would be beaten by the Swans. I jus kept giving him shit from Central Station to the station at Telstra Stadium. What a goose he was

some players perform better on the big stage...maybe egan is one of those! lol:
egan has shown as much promise as c.cloke in his senior appearances, he seems to have dealt with the "ego" that some were annoyed with.
eddiesmith - are you one of the cloke family? do you have to bag every young player that comes in where maybe a cloke could (egan replaced wakelin who [in your opinion, probably] should have been replaced by j.cloke, anytime richards plays)?
personally i don't mind the cloke boys at all, i view them as all the other pie youngsters, young, raw, full of potential, but unproven. j.cloke is a hard luck story but his time may well come, he just has to be patient and continue to work hard.

just came back from sydney today, great result for the club,
Did anybody else get screwed by qantas
qantas cancelled several flights,
meaning the earliest i could get to the ground was just after half time,
i had non refundable flights and had already paid for my ticket to the game, so i still went, and had a good time at the ground for what little time i was allowed,
but i am mighty annoyed with the whole situation.
Cheers

Great game, I picked a good time to avoid reading the result b4 watching the replay. I thought MM's message from the Melb game was perfect, the players had a different attitude of instead of trying to prove themselves so as not to be dropped by getting lots of stats etc, they concentrated on all the team things and worked as a relentless team - huge turnaround. Funnily enough now Sydney are saying the same thing about their game (ie that they were playing for themselves rather than as a team).
Probably the biggest individual plus was Rhyce, I was thinking after he kicked that brilliant goal "Rhyce is BACK!" and right away Walls says the exact same phrase. Up until that game there was doubt in my mind if he would be the same player as pre-knee, but no more - looks like he will be better. Will be a huge addition to the mids and I think he replaced SWan's absence. I think we rely on having a certain "critical mass" of dangerous mids rotating to overwhelm the opposition, and we fell short of that vs Melb - Rowe and Yakka though servicable were just not ready to fill Swan and Brodie's boots. Rowe and DAvies at the least will be in the near future. It was also great to see them give Egan another go, he did great for 1st game back and will improve a lot in the next 3 weeks (assuming they persevere with him, would be big mistake not to). Looks a much more mature player in attitude as many have said already. So in 2 weeks our midfield depth has improved greatly which is a huge bonus and makes us a much stronger side. A good indication of that is we are back with the dilemma of who to drop next week for Swan and Brodes.
Pendles has been a fairytale addition for a 1st year player, amazing given illness-steeped pre-season - but for that reason should be rested for a couple of games b4 the finals. Also Buckley seemed to find some form again in the last quarter after a mini-slump.
I hear Walker is coming along quite well and injury-free for the first time in a long time, hopefully he will continue to progress and be given a chance in a few games, so we can similarly add to our big man depth - also CAm Cloke hopefully will be ready soon for another crack. I fear that Stretch may be settling back onto the LTI list again, but hopefully not since he has been developing nicely. Not to forget Fanning, lots of potential what 's going on??
All in all, looking very very promising heading towards the finals!

Thanks Sim and Kaylene, It wasnt a bad speech was it? I might have to make it a regular occurance again! See what happens.
I dont think the train driver was too happy in the end because I kept heckling him back That sole swans supporter up the back could have been such a great target too hehe!!!
See you all in Adelaide on the 5th of August!!!

Now that was a GREAT game to be at!!!... although i would've preferred it if the siren went 10min earlier!!
- Was reasonably happy with Egan considering he hadn't done much a Willy the few games i've seen recently
- Thought the Shaw boys were great
- Pendles continues to look the goods
- Have a mentioned i wet my pants everytime Didak gets near the pill??

That would be fantastic for us fans who for various reasons unfortunately couldn't be there to join in on all the fun. It would make us feel that we were "almost" there!!
Thanks very much for the pics.
