I think that was the best first quate i have ever seen Ryan Lonie play in my life... That 2nd goal he got was such a fluke... and was so fantastic... also running thru the packs... maybe he has been listening to you guys......... I thought everybody stood up... there were no passangers... trav cloke played very well in the ruck... maybe a bit more training would be great.... our backline was solid, our midfield was firing and our forwardline stood up! well done boys you deserved this win... you showed everyone what you were made of!

I agree with 99.9% of that though I think you and lonie need some time alone..... lol JK.leelee wrote:I think that was the best first quate i have ever seen Ryan Lonie play in my life... Lonie had a great 1st quarter then Goodes had the best of him hands down but lonie did everything asked of him so I have no complaints, he had a solid game IMO

Great win, yet the last 10-15 mins of 4th qtr were a worry... Did we run out of puff? Nearly squandering a 40 point lead concerns me, even if it was against the premiers of 2005.
So many good players for us tonight and 1 passanger - Leon. His tackling and non-existant chasing efforts become worse by the week as has his kicking at goal. Methinks he needs a foot up the arse before he costs us a win, or at least a week at Willy to snap him out of it .
Still don't know how we beat these pricks - all their disposals hit the target and they didn't stop running all night, yet we found a way. &*( me how that POX Ted Richards got so much of the ball, i was livid!
And those pathetic sacks of shit umpiring the game.... well they DID NOT miss a thing for Sydney did they?
But a very satisfying, albeit ugly, win over a great team.

Yeah, but you expect a player of Goodes quality to beat Lonie, but as long as Lonie keeps him in check, hes doing his job. And for a qtr, he absolutley pansted Goodes in a way that saw Lones have more of an impact of the game than Goodes overall.loki04 wrote:I agree with 99.9% of that though I think you and lonie need some time alone..... lol JK.leelee wrote:I think that was the best first quate i have ever seen Ryan Lonie play in my life... Win is a win. Doesn't matter by how much! I don't care about margins too much. While we should pump the tiges this week, as long as we walk away with four points, thats all that matters!
For those who are baggin Morrison , like the "MM plays the favourates" theory, must have a "I hate this player no matter how he plays" complex.
Morrison was handy last night and currently deserves his spot. One OOF was his only clanger from memory and he got the ball a fair bit and held his opponent pretty much.
I'm not a fan of Morrison, but credit when credit is due, he played a solid game. May have been unfashionable, but you do need workers in the team for balance. So get off his back this week and give him a fair go and the support he deserves as a Mighty Magpie!!
Cheers,
Go Pies!

Good god, that had to be the most insipid home crowd I've ever seen... even the early 90's Buckenara-era Swans crowds made more noise per head than these tools.
Some irony deficent tool one bay across from us started singing "you only sing when you're winning" at the cheer squad once Sydney briefly hit the front... wasn't heard for the rest of the game.
When we got home, I watched the replay and above the dull Sydney hum, you can at times hear the red flag chant, and the "boooooring" chant during the Swans chip-a-thon..

Awesome game, and awesome win for the Pies - shame they didn't score more goals...3rd quarter I wanted to cry when BigHead Barry Hall scored those goals.
Big thanks to the Cheersquad - you p*ssed alot of Sydney fans off We had our own cheersquad up the back and went absolutely bezerk! I think we out-cheered a lot of Sydney big time - they were the most quietest bunch of bandwagoners I'd ever come across. Bunch of sore losers too, some of the fans were. I had a glass bottle thrown at my head on the train and some guys started abusing me, no surprise to me though!
Oh, and a big cheers to Mick (Tarrant in the Pocket) for his great speech on the train to Olympic Park Stadium! Honest, truthful and as subtle as a sledgehammer
I'll see you all at the MCG next weekend
Cheers - Simone.

Fantastic victory over the Swans in full flight, a real tester of where we're at, and we came through with flying colours. Very proud to be a Magpie at the moment.
Thought Burnsy was terrific through the middle all night, he surely must play on next season.
Liked Pendles' game, very classy on the wing, uses it nicely.
Taz stepped up a notch.
Great to see both Shaw's in good touch, too.
More later, just enjoying watching the replay ATM.

So now we have lost to three in the top eight, beaten three and are yet to play one, so that looks pretty good to me.
Rhyce Shaw, I doubted you could get back to 05 form so quickly after the reco, I was wrong!
Morrison baggers, I think he played on McVeigh? anyway, he toweled his opponent and was a solid contributer, should not and will not be dropped on the back of that performance.
Josh Fraser Hitouts: 25, Marks: 7, Disposals: 15, Goals: 1 ! Great game without a recognised backup.
Didak, the matchwinner with four goals in a low scoring game.
Quiet games for Bucks, Rocca and O'Bree, they will want to lift next week.
Holland and Swan to come into our best side, plus possibly Wakelin and/or Richards.
Just to end on a more somber note, those posters saying our loss vs the Dees was just an aberation need to think again, they are almost a cert for top four on current form and will figure prominantly in the finals.
We are top four, the other three contenders at the moment are WC, Dees and Crows, we have lost to all three, but we have not feilded a full strength lineup against any of them.
exciting times ahead!
