i think the D's win was a bit of a fluke, they might have won by 47 but they caught us on the back foot, with injuries from the Lions game and no Brodie, Swan or Maxy. It won't happen again.
on Pendles i was impressed, the hype seems to be justified. Just hope he can keep it up.

He is also bottom aged (17) so plenty of scope with pendles he will be a gun.

However that failed attempt to go up for the mark rates pretty highly for me. He just let Davey get to the ball. Obviously he is young and very thin...but he cant shirk a contest, especially whilst he is still young and developing.

Still think Thomas was more influential in his first games. Pendles possessions have been pretty loose...id like to see him win some hard ball and tackle etc.

However early signs are great.

yes the Davey mark was bad but he may of thought he was right and Davey flew in from the side. I don't think he deliberately shirked it as the week before he dropped infront of a charging J.Brown and I know who I'd be less inclined to get ran through by.

He has won the hard ball and been in and under and got the ball out to players on numerous occasions he is actually very good in the pack.

As for tackling he will get better at that when he puts on some kg's and gets more exp.

Pendlebury shows signs of being a good player but until he delivers I will reserve judgement. At the moment he does as many bad things as good. Can't call him a gun until he actually earns the tag.

Think you're forgetting a mark he took in his debut, backing into a pack situation which showed not just great courage but a vice-like grip on the ball. Probably the reason you don't remember is, the mark wasn't paid - ruled as touched off the boot. I think it was the final quarter against the Doggies. So, just saying never judge a player by the one act, good or bad.

I also rate Pendlebury's future very highly and I'm almost uncomfortably reminded of some really great players - I say uncomfortably because I don't want to make those comparisons when he's played two games. He still has plenty to learn and I'm sure he'll have dips, just like Daisy is having ATM. But they are both great recruits whom I'm confident have great careers ahead of them.

not judging him, i too am very excited about his future. He has shown a great ability to win the ball and doesnt panick in a pack...much the same as Dal Santo.

All im saying is that at the moment, his size is a worry in big games against big bodied sides. This will not be a concern in 3 years. Im not sure if he is in our top 22 yet however for this reason. But his future is bright. I feel he will be a very consistent 20+ possession getter week in week out whereas Thomas may drift in and out of games more.
