BTW, good coverage from CH 10...but something HAS to be done about WALLS.....

Funny how one bad loss brings out the absolute worst in some Collingwood supporters
Only one team in over 100 years of League footy has gone undefeated for an entire 22 round season and that was Collingwood in 1929.
Glad to have got that one out of the way. The preseason is over and now the real stuff begins.
Go Pies!!!

Indeed Cam, it was a shocker regardless of who was spilling, missing shots, missing tackles, clangers, you name it. We'll really know where we stand re top 4 or 8 in a months time. Look forward not back.
Bring on the Swans.
Bring on the Swans.

Agreed. They were an absolute f'n disgrace.eddiesmith wrote:Why the **** are people defending those scumbag umpires? They were &^*%$^%$ing pathetic. End of 1st qtr, Davey pushes Shaw in the back, holding the ball-demons goal, next qtr they pay a lesser push as push in the back. The free kick against our sheperding player was a disgrace and the Amount of times Tarrant was whacked in the head in a marking contest, Rocca had 1 arm held and Presti was put in a bearhug, who knows, I lost count by qtr time
For example:
Free Kick, Advantage paid, Point scored, allowed, play continues.
Free Kick, Advantage paid, Goal scored, disallowed, Ball brought back.

I thought Melbourne played great today, although well above themselves. Most sides do when they play us.
It just goes to show what intense tackling can do to any team, making the opposition turn the ball over under pressure. Simple but effictive football nonetheless.
I won't bag the maggots too much today, they paid most of the free kicks we deserved in general play - apart from that shit one against Heath that cost us a goal on qtr time. He didn't quite seem himself after that.
And Melbourne did a great job of ripping our players off the ball before we took proper possession of it, and riding us into the ground enough to stop us getting clean possession away.
And losing 5 players to injury from the previous week didn't help team balance at all. Can't remember the last time that happened. Lady-luck was alway going to desert us sooner or later, and she is making up for lost time in the casualty dept!
And Yze was always gunna have one of his "arse" days against us, like 2005 and Jeff Farmer in 2000.
Either Sydney or Collingwood will lose 2 games in succession. I hope it's not us, but on todays performance i fear the bubble has burst.

We were flat and got pounced on early on in the piece. Had we converted early, the situation may have been different, but alas.
On something that I haven't seen all year, I thought our leadership group were really second rate today. When the only clear winners you have are playing full back, back pocket (Clement) and two half forwards in a team that gets done by 8 goals, something is a miss.
Buckley was flat, Wakelin injured, Pebbles no influence, Burnsy out of it, Licca got plenty and did little with them. They looked like they'd taken the long weekend and bye and rolled up with no spark.
Pendles good but still did silly things, Yakka not the worst, Rowe soundly beaten and Travis Cloke looked one dimensional. Mistake made at selection not taking in anther ruckman and Rhyce Shaw should have been included for pace injection.
It was the worst game they've played all year, similar to some of the performances dished up in 2004 and 2005.
Killed around stoppages can't happen next week, Sydney will punish twice as much. A long break looks needed as the boys looked sore, slow and soft today and that's not what we've dished up for ten weeks prior.
Don't lose faith, acknowledge where the game was lost and implement the procedure to ensure it doesn't happen again. I've walked away from games far more disappointed in the Pie's, just not as many when I could see the writing on the wall midway through the first quarter.

Interesting to note that on a TV special in the Demons brains trust the other day, Danhier talked about OBree being the most important player and that they would tag him. They put a heavy tag on OBree today (he got a couple of frees for being held off the ball) and it seems to have had a major impact.

Someone said to me today that they were expecting them to be flat after finally getting the Brisbane monkey off the back. They sure looked flat and there might be something to this theory. Well know in a couple of weeks.Culprit wrote:Yep from the first bounce they were not switched on. We need to get our confidence back, and quickly. Cant wait for Sydney.

The side I watched today wasnt the side I have seen over the last couple of months.
Credit where credit is due, the dees outplayed us in in all 4 quarters but the side we have been raving about didnt turn up today.
Joffas face said it all. Dissapointing
I watched it on the TV and I reckon it would have been worse to see it first hand
Now the following things really gave me the shits about todays game
Morrison? Holy crap (thats the cleanest way I can put it). What the?? And what about when he???and then he??? oh and there was that kick??. Back to Willys for you fella
And
Robert Walls...Say no more.
Bring on the break and then bring on Sydney.

Todays match was quite self explanatory....I personally thought it was very poor, and the Demons played very well, but after the first kick, the Pie's form was all over the show, and needless to say was extremely disappointing.
Either way, the Pies will come back in good form. I don't think this match would of hurt them too much on the ladder.
Bring on the 24th I say!!

rocca and tarrant when these two get near the ball we fire, if you look at our winning margins the proof is in the pudding, sure the delivery to them was poor today. Modern football shows if you are not mentally switched on the result can go against you. At least we now have 2 weeks to stew on this result and we should be pretty fired up to beat sydney.
Was there a reason why richards was ommited I think fraser needs a chop out with the ruck duty. Melbourne pumped themselves up for this game thats the problem with collingwood every one wants to beat us.
Rowe, yakka, pendlebury and thomas will be better for the run, cant be to hard on them big difference in playing in front of 1000 people to 80,000
Bucks must be injured hope mick comes out and says if anyone is carrying a niggle so they dont get a uneccessary bake.
Lets see how we respond in 2 weeks
Interesting Ed was on mmm after the game saying it was melbournes highest home and away crowd since the 70's and they would have pocketed $500,000 for there home game. Then he said the swans will probably collect 1.5 mill from next weeks game.

Is there another commentator out of all the commentators for any sport worldwide that is hated by more people, like Robert Walls here in Australia.
I just know so many people, and on these boards, so many people hate him with such a passion it makes me laugh so hard sometimes.
