when do you reckon the final teams will be released?
Oh okay, I don't think we will know that until they run out on Monday.

McLean out of birthday clash
5:11:51 PM Sat 10 June, 2006
MELBOURNEfc midfielder Brock Mclean will not play against Collingwood in the Queens Birthday Monday clash due to a hamstring injury.

McLean, who has been in great form over the past few weeks injured a hamstring during a training run yesterday and will miss the next few weeks.

The injury is a huge loss to Melbourne ahead of the biggest match of the year at the MCG. Collingwood have made a number of changes due to injury earlier in the week,

It is expected that there will be a 80,000 strong crowd on Monday

Evens it up for our outs, apparantly our line up could change as well.

4 or more changes is a worry.

Any word on who the other 2 injuries are? Ten news didn't mention any names when they reported there could be more injuries, and I haven't seen or heard anything else.

Wouldn't be so bad if that was the line up.

Rowe, Yakka, Wakes and Trav all start on the bench according to the HS
I guess that means Richards, Egan and Davies miss out.

I'd be bloody harsh to leave Richards out. Pitted against Charman (arguably the most physical ruckman going around) he held his own and beat him for tapouts. Hardly put a foot wrong against the Lions, and he began to look more composed around the ground, in taking more marks and acting as the third man up at a contest.

Have to have Wakes in as insurence incase Neitz goes wild.

Travis will act as the back-up ruckman you'd assume. Considering he is only up against Jamar as the second stringer from Melbourne, he should break even.

Yakka and Rowe have been rewarded for their consistent form with the Seagulls, good to see. Rowe booted a nice goal against this mob back in round 12 last season, may weave some magic tomorrow.

Word is Clokey did not play in the VFL this afternoon.

Fantastic to hear that McLean won't show. Massive boost, he is the vital cog in their engine room.

The area Melbourne will sturggle in is down back. Will they be capable of holding/beating Rocca, Tarrant, Fraser and Travis Cloke, as well as Didak, Bucks and Magic at ground level? Going to prove pretty difficult, especially without Miller.

Throw Clement on Robbo, Presti on Neitz and Tarks/Jonno on Davey.

Should be a ripping contest, as James Brayshaw may say.

Travis, Jason, Yakka and Rowe were all left out of the Willy team today - i get the feeling there will be a late change with Jason in, not sure for who.

I hope Yakka and Rowe rip up the park tommoz and confirm that our depth would be the deepest going around in the league at the minute

Maybe they have Jason in case of a last minute out?

According to Eddiesmith on the Willi thread today, JC has been rested for the week due to a niggle! or is that tounge in cheek?

JC is the obvious replacement for Maxy IMO. I hope JC is in and gets the opportunity he deserves after so many good performances at Willi.

Weather forcast is for "few showers" so may not be too smart to go in too tall this week.

Johnno 26 I hope our midfield and halfback line does not loose that cohesion we had after loosing Swanny, Holland maxi and Cara. Thomas has only missed the Brissi game, Rowe played there last year, Pendles looks like hes been there all the time! And Yakka has never been with such illustriuos company!! That my only worry, we need to get the ball to our fowards unlike last year.

Melbourne losing Mclean is huge.
Should be a very hard, tight contest and could go either way.

Interesting observations by wakss in the Age this morning. Did not realise we were lowly ranked in clearances and tackles. Need to be better than that for when finals footy (hopefully) comes along for us.
