Those who say the team didn't play well don't really understand the level of pressure and close-down Brisbane applied. Brisbane also played surprisingly well - very snappy handball in close and good kicking skills. Good to see that people who don't understand the game that well can still get a lot of pleasure out of it!
As a commentator said Dids came of age, most dynamic and tireless midfield performance I've seen from him and is now a genuine leader.
Buckley also "came of age" as a forward. IT seemed that he tried to replace TAz and actually out-tazzed TAz. But the style of hard-leading play seemed to be inspired by Taz's style. I can't see why he couln't keep playing as a permanent forward for another 4 or 5 years along the lines of Bartlett, that would be great to see. Might even retain AFL standard to 40! Amusing reply when asked about the shanked shot in the last "Always replace the divots".
Pendlebury very impressive, very solid debut. Should learn a lot from his couple of blues esp the one getting caught that cost a goal. Should be given another chance next week, and if he repeats the same mistakes may not be quite ready yet but I doubt he will. Different sort of player to Thomas but looks like he will be just as good - what a draft! OUr runnign brigade is awesome this year what a meteoric improvement - great boost to run over them with only one on the bench and 3 runners lost.

Terrific game to watch, very exciting!
Bokka, I couln't resist so I listened to the whole match first!! The point you make about Bucks doing the "Taz" is a good point. The Champion played another AAA game - there is no other player in the league that could do that with Hird out injured. Tell me someone that can play any position on the same day. Dominate in the midfield with guided cm 50meter kicks and then killed Scott + other in 2 quaters as Key foward. I don't want to take anything away from the whole team + Didak assits Rocca's play but Buck's was fantastic. Taz is still needed though :P
The midfield is so well organized and spread the load so evenly (Even without Swan or Carra) and really provided well for Bucks. I thought the consistent booing of Aker was a classic. In a round about way it's away of acknowlege his footballing abilities! Well lets brace ourselves for another on the Queens bithday! :)

It was a bit easier for me since the game started at 5:30am here - just had to resist looking at the websites for a day...
Yep a few years ago Bucksby wouldn't have got 6 coz the delivery (quantitiy and esp quality) would have been mediocre at best. The delivery now is stunning, esp considering it was again quite mediocre at the start of the season so the improvement has been phenomenal. Seems that foot passing in a match (and shoooting for goal) is a very psychological thing.
But also forward ability used to be the one ingredient missing from Buckley being the complete player, now he seems to be an elite forward as well as mid and defender. In a Bucksby article last year he talked about just that - learning the art of restraint in the forward line or words to that effect. Just has to learn to spring 2.5 feet in the air to complete the package and be a dominant ruck! It's a tremendous boost to our depth to have virtually 2 Taz's! The strategy of keeping him in semi-cotton wool is working great since he'll be fresh for the finals and ready to step in anywhere where needed as a super-utility - a huge weapon in the finals.

Acker must be so used to being booed that the best way to throw him off might be hysterical cheering and 2-arm worshipping everytime he gets the ball - well maybe not the worship thing, doubt anyone could stomach that...

Did you see Voss shite himself when Lucuria confronted him. He realised Lucuria is a 6 dan black belt in karate and quite able to make mince meat out of him. Like any bully, Voss only picks on smaller players.

Not starring so much lately, different team not as many capable players around so he aint starring!! Bucks starred where he had to pull his finger out as we had a workmanlike side. Amazing what Bucks can do when some of our players have stepped up now!! So a few years back when the Lyons supporters cried hell because their captain did'nt get the medal after playing undoubtably a great 10 minutes and not a full 4 quaters what do they have to say, what are their excuses........ probably "carrying an injury"that's why he aint better......
Sorry guys but it used to p....s me off the way they carried on about Voss, great player but noway near as good as Bucks!! for all around ability Saturday was just one proven occasion!!
