What was so great about it? That first half is the worst I have ever seen, the Lions are shit, its team like that we should put away by 10 goals +

although it was probably our best win of the season, i thought we probably played some of the worst footy we've played this season either side of the half time break (reminded me of the last two years), but was great to see we could steady ourselves and still manage a solid win

also, how badly did it show that we missed swannie and taz in parts of the second and third terms

He did go missing during the middle parts of the game but I thought he played well in the 1st and 4th quarter, particularly in the 1st against Acker.
Loved seeing Mr. Proud Puffy Chest make the stupid mistake of putting Aker on Leon - Leon is far too good one-on-one in space in the 50m and needs a genuine defender on him.

Bloody magnificent effort Pies. Not outstanding, but given the circumstances ie. no interchange bench, it could almost be forgiven to think we may have been overan in the last qtr. Not Collingwood circa 2006. This team of ours has plenty of heart. We will give this years finals one hell of a mighty shake...and bloody well WIN it!....GO PIES!
Enjoy yourself. Its later than you think!

Very ugly game of football for the most part.

It was probably the Pies worst performance for the season, to be quite honest ... Brisbane threw everything but the kitchen sink at us ... and we beat the crap out of them in the end.

If the Pies can play that bad and still win ... against a genuine middle-of-the-table contender ... with vitually no interchange bench at the end ... we are going very very nicely, thank you very much.

Thank you, Buckley ... what more can I say?

Losing to the maroon filth would have been unthinkable, and it looked a real possibility during the third quarter. It was like a nighmare coming true ...

... enter Nathan Buckley ... and then it's GAME OVER ... PISS OFF BRISBANE.

Next week we'll need to be on song to beat Melbourne ... but our tenth best was good enough against the Maroon Nothing.

great win, considering the injuries during the game. We showed we have a lot of heart. we will smash the dreamons next week. Hope swannie is alright, im on the swannie bandwagon for the brownlow.

geez you would have to say we are going alright when we beat the brions comfortably with only one fit player on the bench! :)

Enter racer and harry next week if maxy is out for an extended period. We have the depth to cover the injuries this year.

Don't bag Brisbane so easily, of course they are not what they were, but if you got Brown, Power, Black and some of those kids you're not a bad side. In the 3rd Q I thought they really had our measure.

THEN BUCKS CAME TO TOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No it wasn't just him but he still was a lock for three Brownlow votes. He looked the seasoned forward on the ground, not Brown or Rocca.

That comeback was our best effort all year.

Cheers for Heath Shaw - he is I think our most exciting player at the moment.

WOOOOOOHOOOOO - how sweet it is. And for the first time - I didn't have butterflies in my stomach about this game. Even though we were on the ropes and my sister gave up on all hope at half time - I knew we'd win. We're different this year and I knew we'd win!!

I wasn't surprised that Cara was injured - not so much Cara himself but the fact that they'll try to rub one of us out. Always been a style of Brisbane - things not going our way...rub someone out. It really is pathetic.

I found our conversion in front of goal somewhat disappointing. Could have been a bigger lead in the first quarter but I did believe "demons" were present. Especially in the second quarter where we couldn't buy a trick up forward 50 but Lions were getting frees everywhere in theirs. Another factor that really let them in and got some confidence was the umpiring. Could have turned ugly because we went into our shells for a bit but a structure change of one Nathan Buckley up forward threw things in the works.

I can't commend him enough - took the game literally by the scruff and made it ours. Considering also we had 19 through the second half of the team - very impressed. Well done - definately getting this game on dvd.

Final words, good luck to the boys who got hurt - hoping its not too serious. Well done boys - done us proud and showed those arrogant pigs how AFL is won with heart and courage.

This victory is very bittersweet. Yeah, we did it with 19 men, but the injuries could be quite serious.

The Dane has done his hammy, Maxy has a suspected leg fracture and Caracella went to the hospital (I hope he's OK). Not good.

The only positive could be if Cara was put on the long-term injury list and Harry can come back into the team.

Disgraceful and what was worse the umpires kept the game going. Caramellow was clearly in trouble. The umpires should be on report.

Also Rocca was awarded a free kick, the player was also reported and no 50 metre penalty was given. An even bigger joke.

In the end a terrific win but we should have been much further in front half way thru the second. We did not get the half chances we usually nail.

But it was a fabulous to hold and fight back in light of the injuries. Good to get that game away and focus on Melbourne who i think we should beat.

Suspect they will rest all three and bring in Tarrant, Shaw and Jason Cloke/Yakka/Davies/Thomas.
