no need to feel for him just yet...he is very very young and his chance will come. We should not go tampering with a side which is going well at the moment. To bring in pendes means dropping one of our more experienced guys who is doing well in the midfield. We couldnt drop a tall for him, Geelong have a number of good talls.

Who would we drop? Swan? O'Bree? Licuria? Holland? All are playing very well. I have a feeling Thomas will be rested shortly and pendez may come in for him....remember Rhyce SHaw is also struggling to break back into the side.

No need to mess with it just yet. It is finally gelling again

Patience guys, a little patience please. Pendles would have certainly played much earlier, but for his bout of glandular fever, which meant he had virtually no pre-season. No-one's doubting his skill, but I think the club has been allowing him to slowly build up his fitness playing for Willi. He's clearly the next midfielder to be promoted in to the side, and i think the game against the dogs would be the ideal match, as we could probably do without Wakelin or Maxwell in that game, due to the Dog's lack of tall forwards. Once he gets in, I suspect he'll be hard to shift out of the side. We've only played 7 rounds guys, so there's 15 to go.

Really Pendlebury is young? We drop Caracella, he hasn't done a lot, he had 8 kicks last week and 3 were clangers and he is hardly gelling with the side since he just came in last week for Buckley. Given a few games experience I have no doubt Pendlebury can become a more useful player than Caracella. If you are BOG for Williamstown everyweek you reward the player on merit, otherwise what is the incentive to play well at Williamstown everyweek? What is the incentive for the kids not playing well at Williamstown, it is not like anyone is getting a game anyway.

Like some of the others here I think Pendles will get his game against the Doggies and not this week against the Cats.

I think MM likes to pick the spot to play the first gamers and the Dogs are not the tallest and biggest of body frames - so they need to play an open style of football as the physical clashes do not suite their MO.

This will be the ideal time to play Pendles - if he then plays well that will leave him in the team to the play the Queens of the Jungle.

Sit tight - wait until next week.

He could also replace Maxwell of HB line like alot of other midfielders started off as including Buckley and more recently Hodge.

The kid is obviously very close but there is no rush.

Its a long year and unfotunately players get injured, form fluctuates, etc. etc.

The kid will get his chance as will others.

Dogs may be his chance. Wakelin will most likely be dropped given their very small forward line. Presti, Maxwell and Clement is enough in defense against them. Pendles may come in for that game.

Very interesting to see that we have pendlebury above shaw in the pecking order. No doubt Rhyce would have to be very close to selection as well. Caracella has 1 more week to do something, whilst i think Wakelin will be dropped next week no matter how well he plays against the cats. The team is good to play the cats. They have a tall side and we require some tall backs. As i said, Caracella has one more week. I like having him in the side this week. He is the ideal player to put on milburn to make him accountable down back.

My Dad spoke to Rhys Shaw yesterday and said he might be back next week against the Bulldogs.

Welcome, Pendles!

It seems to have been overlooked that Pendles has finally been rewarded for his excellent work at VFL level. Best wishes, Scotty, and let's just hope that this week is the first of many in the mighty Black and White! :D

We are all behind you, Pendles. :)

Another player that many castigated our recruiting department for choosing, even Colin Wisbeys reports on Thomas and Pendles left me thinking we had gone out of our way to pick the 2 duds in the top 10, but extremely happy to say all the "experts" got it wrong and Mick and Derek Hine nailed it!
