Top weekend

Post by FunkyPieMaster »

There were seven of us down from Sydney and three from the Central Coast who went down to watch the match.
We had a top weekend visiting Victoria Park and the Carringbush hotel before that game.
I think it was probably the best Magpie performance I have ever seen with such an even team effort. Good to see a big crowd at the new look MCG as well. I reckon that Dane Swan was man of the match although he had heaps of teammates who could have claimed the honour.
The train trip home the next day was all the better for the win.
I still reckon Rocca got that goal

We didn't get our 40 acres and a mule
But you're my piece of the rock
And I love you CC

My first chance to get on since the other night.

WOW! Sensational. What a team effort. Dane Swan and Heath Shaw are coming along very nicely.

Leon deserves a pat on the back for his efforts. Great stuff!

It might be a little premature to throw a label of best in the league about at this stage, has certainly been very good the last few weeks.

While I think we'll do well come September, there is still a long way to go b4 we start talking flags. Would also suggest that while we are likely to have a good finals campaign this year, it doesn't mean that we aren't building for further success in 07, 08 etc etc.

Great win. I still don't think the team has really hit it's straps and look forward to continued improvement.

The disappointing thing for me was actually the performance of Geelong. I think that the 102 point margin actually flatters them, particularly when you consider the shots at goal that missed and the soft free-kicks they got inside their forward 50. Scoreline does not truely reflect how poor they were and in fact, probably made us look better than we are. Many tests remain.

K Rock

Post by Neil Appleby »

I had to suffer the K Rock call too 'the ru is on fire' and I am thankful that it will be the first and last time, but I gotta ask the question, how is it that the AFL only provided coverage from this sorry outfit? MMM were broadcasting, I believe, so why weren't they available for streaming?

That couldn't dampen my euphoria though; what a masterly performance it was. Perhaps the most exciting Pie performance I can remember.
Just irresistable footy.

Oh yeah, the other points i wanted to make are:
- Lockyer did a nice job on Ablett
- Great to see we won EVERY quarter!!! Would've been easy to let the Cats get a few back in the last quarter but to our credit we finished off!!
