They played well and not much room for improvement. Judd was great and Lynch played the best game he will ever play.
On the other hand, we were sub par and the forwardline didnt function with Rocca, TAz, and Dids not playing well.
In spite of that, we only just went down. VERY encouraging.

Good effort by the boys. Hopefully we don't have a big let down next week. Very important game V Geelong.

Great effort in the end I think from the Pies, all things considered. We almost won it! Obree, Davis, Shaw, Joshie - all great :D Mids worked hard all night, great tackling and I thought we ran well all night, and worked really hard. Just a pity we couldnt come away with the 4 pts.
We needed more from Dids and Taz (ie, goals!)

Hope Rocca's shoulder is OK......

Well we played so well in the third qtr, our third qtr this year have been great. We looked gone in the third qtr at the start, but came back well. It was disappointed that we did not win, but overall the team did their best to lose to a top side. Overall i think every Collingwood supporter should be proud of the performance nite we matched it up with West Coast, but could not get over the line.
Health Shaw played well really well tonite also Swan and Fraser. Is Rocca injuired will he play next week???. What about Didak and that West Coast fan, boy they both had a clash at each other.

Good effort tonight...we are the real thing. Gotta feel proud of some of those guys. Josh was brilliant. O'Bree, Lonie, Swan, Shaw, Neon all very good.

However, what is MM doing to Jason Cloke? Putting J Cloke at CHF and, of all places, the ruck, is ridiculous and is also destroying any chance the guy had of resurrecting his career. Josh needed a back-up tonight...surely C Cloke would have been a better option. One day someone like J Cloke will sue their club because of career-threatening shit like the moves MM seems to continually pull on him.

Honourable loss

Roccas shoulder is a concern at the moment could be doubtful for next week.

Totally disagree, it's the inverse situation of Lonie - Lonie needed to learn defensive skills, Jason needs to learn creative skills. There is no room in the side for the old Jason as all non-key defenders are required to run, create and clear to advantage these days.

That being said, I would've selected C3 over C1 without question, but C3 may have been rested much like Bucks.

Great game Pies - that was a win at the MCG or Telstra Dome. Plenty of good and confidence can come out of that.

I just hope the ground and conditions didn't knacker our chances for next week.

Despite the loss, I think we'll take up the challenge to take it to another level from herein. No heads dropped, no one failed to put in, even if Dids and Tarrant disappointed.

Hope Rocca's shoulder's ok.

And yes, we would've won with Buckley in the 50m, but we'll need him next week now anyway, along with Richards, Rhyce and a few fresh legs.

Best: Fraser, H.Shaw, Johnson, Swan, Licuria, O'Bree, Wakelin, Davis, Burns.

Yeah right...Jason Cloke is being taught to grow several centimetres taller by being played in the ruck and key position. He is not a creative player, he is a dour defender.

Great pie effort I thought. Wet toast just too good at the very end. I too think that while the weagles played to their absolute full potential, Collingwood CAN AND WILL improve and be better for the near win experience over there. This to me has an uncanny resemblance to the home and away loss to Essendon way back in 1990 but the 'pies walked away from that KNOWING that they could beat the dons from then on that season, which they then did twice including in the Grand Final.
I feel that we now have the measure of Wet toast especially over here and playing to OUR absolute full potential and with OUR best team on the park. While I hate ANY Collingwood loss, I take heart from this near win.
