Also watched the replay of last year's game - we looked gone a couple of times in the last quarter.

Licca and co ran their guts out and Dids niggled and annoyed the shite out of them until they cracked down back. Johnno showed early signs of his current form running through the middle and hitting Taz on the chest. (He must and will play in the middle this week). Cara was cool and efficient.

The standout factor, however, was the tackling and pressure. The Weevils aren't used to physical treatment and being hunted in numbers. After their loss last week they'll be stung into action, but they'll be vulnerable to our relentless pressure over four quarters - if we win it'll be in the fourth rather than the third, unlike the trend against lesser opponents.

yeah sorry. 94 was the last time we beat them at subiaco in the home and away season and we won by 34 points. We also beat them in the pre-season comp at subiaco in 2001.
Go Pies!!!

The last time we won in the west was 1992 by 1 point 8.15 to 8.14 at Subiaco. The Pies came home strong kicking 3.5 to 0.5

1994 we beat them by 37 points at the MCG. We also lost by 2 points in the QF at the WACA, for memory Mick McGuane dropped a mark with seconds to go in our forward line to snatch victory.
Back then the finals was 1st vs 8th.

Pies vs West Coast @ Subiaco won 2 lost 7 (won in 89 & 92)

I was both the 92,94 matches over here and remember them well.
People should be reminded how good that win in 92 was, even though it was only about a 20 pt margin at 3qrt time .To win by a 1pt was was huge, the rain was heavy and there were big puddles all over the ground. It was the same as coming back from 40pts.
In 94 (eliminate final) we were playing against a good Eagles side, who had our measure all day.At 3 qrt time we were down by about 30 pts,and didnt look a chance. But the side clicked into gear and came home strong.Had there been a few more minutes we would have won it for sure.
Such is life being a Collingwood supporter,Ill be there tomorrow cheering again. :D

well as someone metioned, although we haven't beaten them at Subi in 14 years, we've only actually played there 4 times(?). So there's reason to think we'd have a chance. Although the last couple of times we played there we got smashed.

History counts for nothing..We have a new fit team with a forward line structure of which is without peer ( at the moment). Their game plan will have to be vastly different than the one they took to the MCG last year.
They have no secrets...they have players have overallperformed consistantly good footy for the past year and a half. Everyone knows their drills and strengths..with the Pies..its almost like a bomb is about to go off at any time...segments of each quarter when we blitz the opposition and have em chasing arse. Lets hope we can put more than 3 good quarters together..If the mid fielders play well enough so MM does'nt have to restructure our forward line we are half way home...Pieas by 15 points.

Tonight must be a four quarter effort. I believe we can beat them on our current forum, however, we can't wait until the second half to fire. We need to get the jump on them early. We can't afford any catchup footy against WC.

Can't wait for it. It's a massive match...just hours away now. Great to know 10 have it, not FF.

Smells a lot like the '02 QF - no one fancies us, no Bucks...Go Pies!

watch Davis to put in a big one. Why?.
Two reasons.
1. Weasels will find it hard to contain the run of both Davis and Didak.
2. No doubt his family will be there to watch and he will turn it on for them.

Davis will kick 2-3, Didak 3, Rocca 3, Taz 2, Lonie 2, Burns 1, Licca 1, Lockyer 1, 1-2 from Holland. If we kick more than 17 goals we will win.

Very hard to win in the west. But we did beat Freo over there a couple of seasons back and we have avery confident hard working group.

Here is to a win. But either way teams who travel west then come home and play the next week normally lose that game as well.
So don't be surprised if we lose 2 in a row. But lets hope not.
All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

Has anyone else heard that Booch is the only emergency that went over with them?

Watch Davis to put in a big one.
Was talking about this last night. Hopefully he does put in a big one. He loves playing at home, i remember when he got best on ground against the dockers back in 2004 they spoke to him after the game, and he said he decided to turn it on for his family watching.

Hopefully Leon Neon can do it again.

Ive also got a feeling Didak will be dangerous. Already 14 goals for the left footed dynamo this season
got yourself a gun...

Pre-match vs Eagles

Subiaco and Judd aside, I think we've got a really good shot. Davis really turns it on for his family and we've got so many options in our forward line, i don't think the Eagles will know who to keep a tight rein on. Hopefully Cara, Taz, Rocca and Didak can kick a few goals each but even if they don't there is Leon, Johnson, Swanny and Lonie. Sometimes even O'Bree. Judd will be a hard one to match up on - maybe Johnson will get him? Does anyone know if Rhyce has been named?
Congrats Bucks, on a great return! Bring on the Crows!
