We should come up trumps but i dont expect a blow out.
Defence should hold, attack will score (too many options to cover i feel - this is our edge in terms of attack; options - though it might take a quarter/half to get it rolling lol) so the midfield will be key.
I expect a good contest but Pies by 20-30.

Damn exciting - I wonder if they'll go conservative or if they'll attack....
Conservative would be to try and choke the Eagles mids, while attacking would be to do something like having Johnno go head-to-head with Judd.
I hope the match committee go attacking because there's no point going back to the past - a midfield of Burnsy, Licca and OB might be great in the wet against Carlton, but it's not the answer for the WCE at Subiaco.
Better to attack and lose in a game like this than to go conservative and lose and risk slipping into old ways of thinking that will not take us forward.
Given the fresh approach from the box this year, I expect us to attack.

I have 1 concern...it is not chris judd or cousins or kerr. It is Dean Cox. This guy is going to have a field day. Ill be setting him captain of my dream team thats for sure. We do not have anybody half capable of doing the job on Coxy.
The only way i can see us playing him is using fraser in an equally damaging role around the ground. Cos is used to beating slow, immobile opposition ruckman. It will be a better matchup for him around the ground against another versatile ruckman like Fraser. Fraser may actually threaten Cox in the mobility department which is half of Coxy's strength. However the actually tap work is the real concern. Cox has it over both Richards and Fraser. No doubt Richards will be brought back in this week.
I tell you what, i wouldnt even be considering bringing in a Fanning or Cloke this week. We gotta put our 2nd best ruckman in there, and that is Guy Richards. Fraser has got to play the game of his life. If we win, its because Josh has played a stunner
Dave are you saying we should be worried because the Eagles have
big cox? I think Fraser will get the head job on him.
Never disperse your focus unless absolutely necessary. Face one adversary at a time!

Exactly Rudie!RudeBoy wrote:If we have a shootout we'll bolt it in. For the first time in many years, I reckon the opposition is going to be pre-occupied trying to work out how to shut us down rather than the other way around.
Which is why we shouldnt be to concerned about whos gunna get Judd etc. We will, but the ball is certainly in our court and they must be scratchin' their melons wondering who to stop in our rampaging forward line. If we go negative and play defensive ,I'll spew. Conditions will suit our big marking forwards. Neon should play a blinder and should crumb to perfection. Daisy will take a trademark screemer. If Pebs and Taz find there radar, we could be talking up another 20 goal game/win. How is their backline gunna stop us?
Enjoy yourself. Its later than you think!

For what it is worth here are my thoughts on the goal.
Kick 15 goals and we will win.
Our defence will have no problems keeping their defence to less than 15 goals as long as we take care of Judd.
The job on Judd must go to Rhyce who has done it well in the past. Other than that go man for man against them and duke it out.
Buckley I think should be rested or played in the fwd half all game to give us the best shot at 15 goals. Personally I would rest him. He will get Chick or Steinglein who have done well on him previously. If not Bucks I would probably rest Thomas. He wont make the season out if we play him every game.
For me it is
Out - Buckley or Thomas (both for a rest) and Wakelin
In - Shaw Richards

Having thought long and hard about West Coastjoffa corfe wrote:Once again im oozing with confidence i dont care much for match ups as i believe the eagles wont have any answers for the best side in the comp im in the mood to tease myself once again with the winning margin this week i cant seem to get over a six goal victory to the magpies.
I believe our Club has every reason to boast
That the result this coming Saturday night
Will give the Weagles one almighty fright
Subiaco's finest will wonder if they're gunna
See 'I'm Not' Ben Cousins do another runner
As the Magpies score continues to blight
Their pitiful efforts throughout the night
So I'm tipping another mighty Magpie showing
And my dreams of success in September are growing
While BB posts debate the relative merits
Of player match-ups and the like, I don't care it's
Collingwood all the way on May the Thirteenth
And of securing top spot on the ladder, I'm certeenth!
