Where exactly do you see this complacency?

i sense complacency too. Blues always perform well against us...its a fact. This is one that we should win, and i think we will win. However lets not get too confident.

A forward line consisting of Fevola, Waite and Whitnall is always dangerous. Plus they have other talls in De Luca and probably their pick 4 Josh Kennedy will play. Plus they have the edge in the ruck with French and Mclaren vs Fraser and Richards.

Id be bringing in Wakelin to counter their talls, i think we need another tall defender. Otherwise we should hold sway pretty much everywhere on the ground

by the way, steve and joel, probably wont be able to write my match preview this week...have a 3000 word essay due at uni and i must get a start on it, plus i have put my back out and can barely sit down infront of the computer let alone write a report. I am writing my essay on the coach with my laptop, but cant get internet from there, its not wireless...ive only just popped on now for 5 mins to see the latest on the bulletin board.

Please, if anyone else can write a report...it would be so much appreciated. It doesnt have to be long, just a couple of paragraphs, a few predictions..strengths and weakness of both sides. If you could, just post it in this topic and one of us will put it on the site. Thanks

no no no...im not saying for one moment our team is complacent about the game...im talking about us as fans getting too cocky.

I am not for one moment saying our players are cocky...they know what they have to do. What worries me is topics such as "will we score the highest score all time this week"... and "we will belt the blues" etc popping up on chatrooms, we are putting more pressure on our boys by doing this. Carlton is a danger game.

It is the supporters whom im afraid are been complacent. Remember a few years ago we won out opening 5 games then lost practically every game there after. Lets wait until round 11 before we start talking premierships and beltings etc...it is still so early in the season

intresting team. (well not really)

richards is to get another game. (u reckon he is improving?)

u would say that brodie will come in for davies

is there a need to play wakes? the scum will have fev, kouta (at times), whittan (fat farm), in the forward line. i just think we may need wakes

also good to see that pendles is a chance to play but unlikely

matchup of the day (hope it happens): thomas vs murphy

If it rains i think we should play a isolated forward line this week, push trav and taz up the ground and isolate rocca and bucks, with dids, taz and trav running back towards goal on turn overs(from a mini flood around their half back), would also be nice to drop trav back to chb and have bucks loose up forward deep in the pocket or sweeping down back, let them pick him up then bucks can decide to link or stay forward... space is key if we can get some going forward and stop their space around thier 50 we can win by a big margin.. Time to smash the filth, show them no respect, play big and break them in half.. they dont have the skill so if we pressure them enough the game will split wide open and the goals will flow.. still think we should have trav back and force jimmy loose, they wont be able to score, if our forward line has space its going to be a great day out if the rebounds are coming out clean, which it will if we can get jimmy or bucks sweeping down back..

My opinion on ths week is cos of the wet weather, we need strong bodies in.

J cloke would be a bad option! and Cam for Richards also!

Holland for either davis or Davies!

GO pies.

Joffa, are you turning up with the Gold Jacket on this week?

The weather will play its part bringing this game "down" to a scrappy affair. Carlton will be desperate and will be flinging their bodies into the fray. Goals will be at a premium, so scores will be tight. We will be trying to create and they will be trying to negate and then hope to hit us on the rebound. Hard work in the packs, long kicks into our forward 50 and let the forwards do their thing. Nothing cute. Winning doesn't have to be pretty (ala 3rd Q vs Port) just honest, relentless wet weather footy. Class will shine through. Forward structure will remain Rocca/Tarrant/Cloke with only hard nut Holland to come back in for an unlucky Davies. Carlton talls are ineffective in the dry. They certainly will not hurt in the wet, therefore no place for Wakes
