armchair match report of the day pies ate pork crackle

Good start to the day for me,ive played golf and lost 16 bucks in bits,had a few to deaden the pain,5 mates want to come up and watch the game on fox so we start up the bbq set up the telly out back,as usual its a beautiful day in WA.

By the time foxfooty start the show its 4 stubbies each and the bullshit is flowing freely.
2 pies and 3 port fans are the crowd so i bring out the wife to even it up 3 all before the bounce.

she is voted 5-1 to be the days cook.so be it.

now on to the game
pies start off with Burns,Richards,Swan and the tank engine on the pine.

Umps in red is always a worry,one red mug bounces it down and away we go.
Its an arm wrestle early,i note that Bucks is not on the job as most of his early kicks are no good.burgoynes got the job on him and doing well.
4 minutes into the game and obree kicks a sausage roll from joshs ruck tap at a throw in,then rocca got a free 5 mtrs out for a free that was because he only held his opponent with his left hand and the other bloke held him with his right.
I must admit the umpires confuse me a lot!
11 secs later pork power goal without a pie touching the nut.
Josh is terrific in the ruck,his second efforts especially are very good,Lika is on the end of a josh pass,gets 50 for who knows why but we take it,decides he cant kick it that far so hands to lonie and he dobs it....piece of p155.

Josh taps the ball up to leon,he handballs to lika who passes to ANT goal again.
we are on top,then richards goes into the ruck,our dominance at the clearances ceases forthwith and pork go goal..pt..goal..goal.
Its port again going fwd until the much maligned and rightly so Tarky chases down aporker.johnno gets the davantage and passes to TaZ at tit level and he goals.then a minute before they bring out the cordial ANT marks on the chalk in the pocket and slams thru his 3rd for the qtr.
so at the first change of ends its pies 6 goals 0 v pork 4 goals 1

second qtr is a bit of a stalemate,noah would be proud,both sides have a few goes fwd but err and its not much of a game really to be excited about.
only high point was a great chase and tackle from Josh which resulted in a gooal to ANT.
Then 20 minutes into the game of chess it becomes worse.
It becomes comedy capers as pork get so many free touches due our bad disposal its not funny and we are only 1 point up.
make that 5 down after tredrea gets a doubtful free and goals,but with 5 secs left of the half cheesy bags a snap from a TC pass and we go in 1 point up after a half of footy that was unisnspiring.

Didak and Cheesy have been tagged and have had little impact,Burgoyne has beaten Bucks hands down,aided by bucks poor disposal when he had it.
TC has had zero stats but his role seems to be to drag chad cornes out of the play so he is ok teamwise if im right there.

Foxtel invited me into the pies rooms for half time so i pressed red and entered the hallowed rooms.
very interesting..hardly any players spoke to each other,only ant laid down on the floor as if he was stuffed,the rest of them just continued to walk around,stretch or slow jog.
we did it different in my day,most of us used the break to have a fag or a feed.
thats progress.
At this stage the 5 of us a bit beyond half pissed and the noise is deafening,the cook quit and retired to the big tv indoors.


Thats ok we arent hungry for anything but footy,2 of us were content in what transpired.
The pies took complete control of the game banging on goal after goal.
Josh fraser was the catalyst of most of it,his work at the clearances second efforts and around the ground work was what ive been hoping he would be able to do for years.
Great stuff.
Taz Bucks and Ant goaled Lonie slammed thru another super goal.
Bucks is now up fwd and no longer tagged by burgoyne and comes right into the game.
But the doubt is now in my mind as to if his best spot is now fwd exclusively of off the bench.
I have no doubt burgoyne had his measure when opposed to each other.
Anyway it was pie heaven for 30 minutes,we could do no wrong and went in at the oranges and cordial break16.6=102 to 8.9=57 up.

Richards started in the guts in the last term and pork got most of the clearances and tried to get back in the game.

Port had been declared dead at 3/4 time and Tobin bros had been called to arrange the funeral and burial,but apparently mark williams called for a second opinion as they tried to claw back some life in the game.
we squandered many atempts to bring tobin bros in,and in the end Bucks taz snagged a sauseage each to nail the coffin shut.
Intersetingly both goals came after josh went back into the ruck.

It was the back line that stood firm all day,the mids worked well when josh was in the ruck,fwds had a good go.ANT was quiet 2nd half
leon did well in the midfield
loved harrys perserverence and clement,johnno,lika,bucks all did their bit.

the 5 of us continued on until the esky was empty,then no one could drive home so they walked off,i joined the wife inside,i didnt have to drive anywhere,bring on the bloos!!!

i cant wait.
