Do you have any idea what I am talking about? Is that from it? How do you usually introduce yourself? Are we still talking about Carlton have some weapons which our coaching staff and players will be aware of and on their day can play good football? What time is it there?

Play good footy don't need to overdo it, if the opportunity arises that we can take em apart then let's kick 107+, but lets get the win first.

We should win, and pretty well.

The main match up is Fevola vs Presti. Our ever reliable fullback has a terrific record on the Fev (from memory) and has rarely - if ever - let us down. If #35 can keep up his form, we should be safe enough.

Clement must take Jarrad Waite, our best match up for him.

If Whitnall goes forward, chuck Wakes/J.Cloke (should he play) on him - we need someone big enough to hold him.

Our class/run/grunt should win the day in the middle. Bucks at his best, Jonno, Swanny and Lones in career best form....we need to flog them here.

The forward line is the area we will excel - Taz, Pebs, Rogan, Trav, Dids and Neon Leon - they don't come much better at the minute.

Collingwood by 30 points. We should flog them, especially with WCE coming up next. But it's a danger game - they will scrap tooth and nail.

They invairably lift for us - brace for it, Pies, then outrun them. Burn them. Carna' Pies!

I reckon the only chance on paper & form that scum has a chance of winning is if it rains...and thenn who knows. Mick will be looking at the skies before the final team runs out...Dry day the pies by 4 goals...the rain...the pies by 8 points. Can't remember how a lot of our playres handle the wet...if it pans out that way. Basically either way...all of our midfielders are probably designed for the hard slog stuff anyway....O,Bree,Burns,Holland,Swan,Bux.... to name a few.

For us to win we need to...
-shut down fevola,stevens,scotland,houlihan,waite
-rocca and tarrant to keep presenting
-attack the footy and man hard carlton have some soft players, play hard attacking football in the frst qtr i can see some carlton blokes taking a backward step.

fevola-presti
whitnall-maxwell
waite-clement
stevens-holland
scotland-licuria

Five simple words for me:
We MUST beat the SCUM!

Beating the Scum Home and Away for me makes any year a good year. I lose sleep for a week before these games!

I'm fearing this game a little. Just around now I could see some complacency sinking in. We haven't been completly convincing yet, stringing together a whole game, where as the Blues have not been terrible.

I would hope that we could stage a lead, and maintain it, keeping them at arms length the whole game. Well, thats ideal for me anyway. I cannot see us blowing them away though.

The weather is a worry!

If this is the case, I don't think the forwards will have as big an impact as they have previous weeks.
We need the likes of Didak, Thomas and Davis firing and scoring goals when the ball hits the ground in the forward line.

Our disposal will have to be spot on and we need to continually man up, last week was so frustrating to watch all the free Port players streaming forward at times.

The boys need to continue to play direct football and tackle. After watching some of the Blues game last week, they make poor decisions and make a lot of skill errors. With heavy tackling and chasing the Pies will force more of these errors.

I think and HOPE the Pies can get up this week ... margin 26 points!

Bring the Blues on!

That said I think the pies will do it this week, but Malthouse was dead on when he said the pies still aren't firing like they should. They are innaccurate in the forward line and making mistakes in the midfield still. Remeber the last four weeks we have not had seriously good opposition. The three weeks after will provide a better indicator of where we are at.

On Sunday at the ground I was thinking "When was the last time we really belted a side - in the 10 goals plus region?" I don't know if the pies have the kind of intensity to be able to really pile it on for the two quarters it takes to build those kind of scores. Still though Carlton are looking absolutely shithouse.

I think the pies by ~30 points. I hope it's a lot larger.
8) I recall the Pies flogging the kangas by 77 pts not more than 2 weeks ago drfranger :?:

For me the true test for us is to win a game that REALLY matters, games that in the past we have lost with monotonous regularity. This game can virtually seal a spot in the 8 at this early stage of the year and give us the foundation to aim fair and square at the top 4. To treat it lightly and talk of resting players and winning by huge margins, is pure folly and a loss could put us back with the field. The scum are our arch enemies and should be treated as such with a win the only result to achieve, by a point or 109, but win we must and that would signify to me that we are moving forward.
I have long been a Presti critic for the simple fact i think he is too slow and when he plays on some one with a lot of pace he can be very ordinary. Granted he has played very very well recently, against slower opponents, but fevola has pace to burn and it will be a huge test for Presti, one I hope he passes. fevola has cruelled us a couple of times with Presti playing on him so lets all hope Prestis great form holds up. I hope I have to eat my words .

This is a game we should win. They will negate us and drag our football level down to theirs.

Fisher and Carrazzo to fire in a Blues loss I hope.
