Poll: Player of the round
Who was the player of round 4?

Lance Whitnall (Carl)
Scott West (WB)
Matthew Richardson (Rich)
Graham Johncock (Adel)
Cameron Bruce( Melb)
Adam Hunter (West Coast)
Josh Mahoney (Port Power)
Alan Didak (Coll) *cough* *cough*
Jonno should be in the running ahead of Dids. Was magnificent.

How awesome? Just checked over the stats... and although lics seemed quiet he got 23 possesions.... and then bucks (what a legend) got 19... but how damn effective were those possesions... i mean 3 goals!!

Well next week the Lonies and the Wakelins line up against each other in a world first for twins in the AFL... May the pies succeed... as they deserve to...

Firstly, Shane has to get back into the team.
Secondly, it seems Daryl has been outed by Kangaroo Court.

Might have to wait until return game at Moron Park to see this eventuate.

The ruck tap outs: Hille did more than win , he was grabbing the ball from out tap outs and kicking goals with no pressure. It was pretty obvious Essendon had watched our last few matches and saw Fraser and Richards when winning the tap outs are just dropping the ball a metre away. All Hille had to do was feign the jump in the ruck (he knows we won't grab the ball due to the holding the ball rule) and rove that 1 metre tap. It took 3 quarters for one of our ruckmen to try something a little different and punch the ball clear. Because Ryder was not up to it Hille had to pretty much play all day and eventually tired. We are going to need some variety this week against Lade as our ruck strategy is now out in the open. Lets hope it doesn't happen again.

Great win by the boys. The reality is that we were pretty average in the first half and were only down by a goal which means that if we can string 4 quarters together, we are going to absolutely belt some teams!

Didak, Thomas, Shaw and Johnson were terrific and its certainly nice to have quite a few game breakers in our team. The fact that our forwards didn't kick many goals and yet we still kicked over 100 points is a big positive!

However the ruck is a bit of a concern. The reality is that one ruckman actually pulled the pant down of two. It was Hille that really kept them in the game for so long by enabling them to win so many clearances.

It was HIlle vs Collingwood practically.

However, atleast they had Ryder to fill in...this week port will be without Brogan meaning we can really tag team lade.

Odds are, the power will bring in Fabian De Luca who is a bigger dud than anybody else in the game. APparently his form has been nothing short of woeful in the reserves and was nowhere near selection prior to the brogan injury.

Therefore, Lade will ruck 80% of the match...he rucked 100% against the saints and ran it out well.

We really have to run the pants off Lade. Fraser should be running around like he has ants in his pants, and Richards has got to do more than fill up holes down back. Lade has to be running all over the field. At every opportunity, Fraser and Richards have to bolt...even if it is for a leisurely jog around the boundary.
There's more to life than footy.........just not much more.

I thought Thomas was just about beszt for us bobbed up at the right times and helped swing it our way may not have had the stats of Johnno but certainly had a big influence.
Just got back! Saw the replay without knowing the result and Jhonno was perfect. I only remember one clanger but he was just precision stuff, hard running brilliant anticipation was there to support don't know where he gets his stamina. Daisy was just Thomas!! Love the tactics we just ran them down in the game, they like to call theirs. They tried hard their match ups where good! for a while but like a few years ago we ran them down and over them. The battle of the midfield made sure we had it hard in delivering the ball to Rocca and Taz but our attack is also medium size as the bompers found out!!!! Well done boys :D :D :D

more of my 2c....

How good was the Clement tackle on Hird over the boundary line!!!!

Didak was fantastic & could've just about made a case for the ANZAC day medal with great general play & that match winning 4 goals STRAIGHT!!!!!

Davis was dissapointing - unfortunately. I would like to know how much game time he had though. Did he get a run in the middle at all????

Rogan and Richards eventually wore Hille down and got on top in the last but they were getting massacred early.

Presti was almost BOG, finished up destroying Lucas despite the latters attempts to run our boy all over the ground.

Holland and Burns had very wuiet starts but both put in huge last quarters when the game had to be won, they one the hard ball at stoppage after stoppage in the last.

O'Bree was the only pie winning a hard ball get at the stoppages earlier on.

Our rucks still need to improve considerably, and I see no reason why that won't happen as the year progresses. As Rogan and Richards get more games under their belts, their confidence will grow, as will their effectiveness.
