Very satisfying win!

We were very shakey early but managed to steady, hit the front & never looked back!!... well perhaps a few glances of the shoulder during the last quarter?!?!?!?!?! :P
Can't wait to see the replay!

How good is it when we out-cheer the Dons!!!.. Hope we can do the same V Blues this year!!!!!

Totally agree. Ithink essenscum got 3 from 50's and 3 or for more from frees right in front so the win was even more meritorious.

For me the biggest highlight of the day was the form of players like Heater, Swan, Harry (shaky at times but never stopped running and got plenty of ball, particulalrly early when we were under seige).

The kids are doing alright.

The great aspect of Roids ANZAC Medal win was that one of his critical weaknesses has now become a genuine stength, his delivery into the forward fifty was an absolute treat to watch.

Thomas, what can you say about this kid other than coming along beautifully.

O'Bree has turned it right around, early on he looked the only Collingwood player capable of winning a hard ball get from a stoppage.

Lonie is in career best form after the penny dropped and he realized it was fire up of find another home.

Dids is far too vaulable as a goalkicking forward to be much of a midfielder.

Bux going forward and kicking goals is a huge bonus and a must to prolong his career and to benefit the side. Unfortunately -champ that he is- he is getting caught more often and cramped for disposal more often then ever before and the first signs are there. If he could spend half to three quarters of the game in a forward pocket of flank and kick a couple most weeks (a la Gavin Browm towards the end) then he could go round for another couple fo years.

Josh and Guy were absolutely smashed early but wore Hille down by the last quarter.

Travis was woeful early but lifted after half time.

Burns and Holland were quiet early but had massive last quarters to ensure the right result.

Licca worked his way into the game and Lockyer was steady.

Maxy and Clem were fantastic down back and Presti was almost BOG despite Lucas trying to run him all over the ground.

Great effort all round pies.

Leon out Ryce in would be the only change I'd be considering and only if Rhyce is 100% right to go.

-I was worried in the first qtr essendon could have blown the game apart but we came back to our credit. Then it looked like a matter of time before we over ran them which did happen.
- not big games scoreboard wise by tarrant and rocca still got over 100 points
-tarrants lack of cofindence at kicking for goal is a concern
-umpires paying the tiggy touchwood frees in the first half then not paying obvious holding frees in the second half
-presti should have won the medal sacificed his game once again to shut down lucas
-hird having a consious when he got that free kick then missing shot for goal
-harry obrien i thought had a good game sure he made a few fumbles but got a lot of the ball probably played in front of the biggest crowd of his life

Very true mate he had his yips back, wayne really needs to do some hard work with tazzers kicking, he wasn't kicking through the ball, just stabbing at it. N e one notice the handball to bucks when he shouldve gone back and had a shot, this guys goal kicking confidence was shot.

YIPPEEEEEEEEEE!

About freaking time I say!
Watched the game at home and punched my chair a LOT in that first quarter.

Why couldn't we just please string two goals together??? We'd kick one, pissfart around for 5 minutes for Essendon to reply, then immediately hit back with an 'easyasyoulike' goal. What was with that???

Agree with lots on here - I thought Fraser and Richards got PUMPED by Hille, lucky that ryder bloke is so useless. I thought Richards rucked the better of the two, though tap-rucking is seriously overrated in some circumstances (just thump the bloody thing!). Josh could've picked up a coupla goals late in the game too.
Leon wasn't on the field much, but what he did was good. I didn't feel he got overwhelmed, he just wasn't on for that long.
BJ (or is it CJ now??) you have the worst kicking style since James Manson, but your accuracy is a DREAM. The commentators wouldn't shut up about it (suck on that Brereton you great oaf!)

Great win by the boys, now we've only gotta pump the powderpuffs next week and we're looking SERIOUSLY good

ps Dave86, the word is unscathed not unscaved (maybe just a typo??)

What can you say but just bloody proud to come back like that just shows how much we have grown as a side. Johno was great Buckley played one his most inspirational for a while. Swan was handy Didak killed 'em later on and Brodie did his best to stop hird. Thommo is going to be something as well Maxwell didn't stop trying The pressure we put on them was outstanding. Keep it up lads.

:D What a great day, Wests Aussie Rules in Sydney was pumped I can tell you!
A bit worried early in the match but you could feel that if they didn't put us away early we could come back, which we did.
Harry I think is starting to get a bit of a cult following.
Hope the boys keep it up next week, I'll be coming down to check out the match.
Finally, an ANZAC day win ... still can't get over it.
I still reckon Rocca got that goal

We didn't get our 40 acres and a mule
But you're my piece of the rock
And I love you CC

Finally, but nothing went to plan? notice how they rotated out of the square and had us chasing tales for the first 10 minutes? i was stressing. Took MM along time to react and they could have blown the game away in the 1st if not for inaccurate kicking// But anyway what heart the team showed and you could see it coming early in the 2nd, we where about to win?? but how and MM chucks bucks up forward :D lucky move and dids was sensational.. Taz worked hard and got into the game but pebs should have pushed up and swapped with trav, or been isolated more, anyway im still not sold on our forwards in BIG games, made no score board impact and if not for bucks and did we would have lost and looked a laughing stock.. still alot of work todo but what a good year we should have... taz and pebs have goto get it constantly right, if that happens this team is flying..

Dutchy hasn't got a mention yet, but Ithought he really helped us clear it out of the centre, particularly in the last quarter.

Johnno has improved his disposals out of sight. Not only are his penetrating kicks into our forward line helping the side enormously, but i saw him deliver a few pin-point passes as well. Good work Johnno.

I agree that Tarrant is best served away from the goals. What a luxury we've now got that we can throw a bloke like Bucks down forward when needed. The flexibility of this side is one of its great strengths.

Holland was really good, i even gave him a vote in the other topic. He took about 2 unbelievably gutsy marks, kicked a great goal and worked hard all day. Only got 18 touches, but they were quality. Hits his targets all the time.
