Sounded like a great game on the radio. We are really on the map now, 3rd spot after winning a pressure cooker game.
Johnno got the medal. I would have thought Didak or Shaw but good on him.

Gee how good is Daisy!
I thought Thomas was just about beszt for us bobbed up at the right times and helped swing it our way may not have had the stats of Johnno but certainly had a big influence.

I was honestly never in doubt that we would win. I was just frustrated by our inability to string together 5 minutes of solid footy, credit to the Dons, they were undermanned and put up a great fight.

I would say we played at 30% in the first quarter, 40% in the second, maybe 60% in the third and probably about the same in the last.

Good to get the win even though we played like trash.

I can also proudly jump on a bandwagon of sorts, Dale Thomas will be Rising Star this year no worries and looks like he will become the next Cooney/Judd.

GO PIES!

I think that in the wash up..Swan & Shaw played pretty good games..those 2'nd level players coming to the fore.

Shaw was in our top 5 players today without a doubt.

Amazing that 2 first year players (Thomas and Heath) are capable of dominating already! Good omens all round.

Thing I like about Shaw is his excellent kicking skills...and he seems? like he is unfazed...and not pressured..thats a good omen..

Great ending.

We really struggled early on to adjust to their pace, and with their constant shots at goal, it was as if it was 2005 all over again!

But for once we settled and showed our newfound maturity, great to see.

Full credit to Jonno, Heater, Bucks, Presti, Dids, Maxy, Clemo and Licca - warriors who fought all day and heaved us over the line.

And a special mention to Burnsy, who gave us some traditional (and much needed) bite in the guts during the final term, great to have him back.

O'Bree and Swan were solid, nothing flashy, did the job nicely.

Special praise to Presti, who held the dangerous Scotty Lucas brilliantly all afternoon, wore him like the proverbial glove. Magnificent effort.

Harry had his moments but was solid, while Davis was quiet. Well done to Holland on a top final term, too.

Richards was solid in parts, and I think steadied us in the ruck when Hille got on top (which was for the most part). Fraser was patchy at best, outclassed by Hille but was important at times.

A great - and concerning - aspect was our forward line, it failed to fire/function properly. Taz tried his heart out and was valuable, but was well held by McPhee and cannot do it all on his own. Rocca flashed in and out but was held for much of the afternoon why Fletcher. Travis was very quiet.

What a great occasion! Loved it.:D Go Woods!

$45 and a carton of crownies. Plus gloating rights over 3 bummers fans who have been mouthing off all week.
Sweet.

Only negative was centre bounces - Essendon seemed to win their bulk of them, as did the Kangaroos. Need to work out a better plan.
But soo happy and please :)
UP yours Essendon!
