there is no way Licca is injured.
as for Richards.
Glad we have a tap ruckman, but you would have to be blind to applaud his around the ground work and ability below the knees.
And another thing, I don't think Josh Fraser has received the credit he should be getting. The man is a dead set genius of a footballer and looks like he is about to stamp his mark.

After the first quarter I was yelling for your blood but after that, your tapping skills were spot on...but For christ's sake..when you are about to kick from a mark have some confidence...don't look around like a rabbit with a spot light for 5 minutes...you are missing the opportunities further up ground....Cam will have to wait at least another week Guy...keeep it going...
I know Cam kicked 4 in the 2s but he is never ever going to take Richards spot whilst fit. Please get over it. Write to the club and ask Cam out - he may well fancy you too. A nice restaurant and a bottle of wine - you might be half a chance. Take Dave86 and a few other Richards knockers with you. Just keep the conversation very very simple and speak sloooooowly so you can all keep up.
Unless some of you clowns start to apologise for your ridiculous "Cam Cloke is a better ruck option than Richards" statements - as soon as i have time i will expose you in a thread. Bring em on!
Them are fighten words!
Not a Richards knocker. But IMO Cam would be a better Option. I guess it depends on whether you rate getting taps, higher than possesions around the ground and kicking an odd goal!
Unless that tap goes down the throat of your rover its not worth crap IMO (other than stopping the opposition ruckman getting it to his teamate, in which case any other tall player should be able to do that such as Cam)! Richards did achieve that on a few occasions. And credit to him. But the Roos Midfield lacked pressure all day and I wouldn't use Monday's game as a defining measureing stick. For Richards or the Team for that matter.
Great win don't get me wrong, but I've got the feeling that Roos will be bottom 4 this year.
Thought Hale beat Richards (haven't seen stats to confirm it). And he had little support around him. Had 3 shots on goal also.
But credit is due for Richards, he did play a good "Tapping" game. Hope he keeps it up, cos Fraser down forward is just another problem for the oppostion. If Richards continues current rate of improvement then his spot will remain safe and be a big plus for the team. Hope it happens too!
You can't say you win the debate on the basis of one game. Especially when Cam hasn't had an opportunity to answer either!
Cheers,

Great Summary DaVe86 just watched the replay and youv'e summed it up perfectly. They are a great side when we finally win centre clearances and that foward line is a real headache for any side. Just watching the Roos backline they never did stop trying they where just outclassed. Even Trav played his part. Remember the mug is only 18 and although he put in some class performances last year in key roles didn't stop trying on Monday and really put pressure on the Roos defence when they were trying to get the ball out. Exciting stuff, now we will see how they cope with a classier opponent. The way things are looking there is no team in the league that are going to sleep easily. I was really impressed with Swanny he seems to have become a really exciting link man and some of his ball pickups where great to watch! Great to have a big win and can't wait for the Bommer clash!!DaVe86 wrote:Enough will be said about the stars like Buckley and Tarrant.
What was really impressive was some of the efforts from our second stringers.
Lockyer was simply brilliant of Shannon Grant...restricted him to 14 touches.
Johnson running off half back was brilliant from the 2nd week straight and hit targets...obree and Maxwell were also brilliant and were our top 2 possession getters.
Johnson #26....this one is for you......Richards was great today. His ruckwork was very clever...he was a better option than Fraser today...frase was jumping too early. Richards was hitting to advantage which was pleasing. The only criticism is that he allowed David Hale to have 3 shots on goal in the last quarter...his work around the ground has improvement left. However his ruckwork was spot on and he has earnt his spot after todays effort. 15 hitouts is a good return, especially since it was evenly shared with Rocca and Fraser.
Trav was beaten...but worked really hard, and also looked to have a role up back if he wanted. Dane Swan continues to impress. Clement took Rocca after Wakelin got a bit touched up and did a reasonable job.
I also thought Leon Davis looked really dangerous today. He and Didak along with little Dale THomas were really impressive inside 50 today.
Harry also had a good game...im worried that he gives away a free kick every time he spoils...however umps didnt penalise him today so he got away with it. He perhaps infringes a bit too much. But his thinking under pressure and his disposal is top notch.

I'm yet to view the replay but there were at least two occasions where Licca couldn't hit an easy target without pressure. He just didn't seem as sharp as we've come to expect - even at the contests!Johnson#26 wrote:Why Licca, LoneStar?
Perhaps it's just a lack of game time at this early stage of the season?!?!..... i hope!
It's the first time i've actually started to think about life after Licca

I thought that when he marked the ball 30m out on a 45 degree angle, then passed to a running Leon Davis was quite telling. (Admittedly, it resulted in a great goal.)uuuuu..... Brilliant game and all the boys deserve a pat on the back for the effort they put in for four quarters. I can't think of one player who didn't try his guts out, but a few stand out in my mind:
Lockyer - Absolutely the best game i've seen him play since coming back from injury in '03.
Swan - Was rapt to see him run up to the forward 50 and bang through some goals of his own. When your mids and backs are kicking goals you know you're thrashing the opposition
Holland - Had a hand with Lonie in keeping Wells relatively quiet.
Taz - of course, glad to see the yips gone and was vastly impressed with his game off the ball with shepards, tackles etc. Fully deserved that medal
Lonie - Seems to have gone up a notch or three this season. Is it my imagination or has he averaged a goal a game so far?
Maxy - Terrific work, but then when isn't he good, really?
Johnson - breaking the lines, ducking and weaving like the Johnno of old.
Rocca - If those three points had been goals, Hay would have been benched at half time. And he wouldn't have come back.
Thomas - God, don't you just love the way he passes to Taz? Love the kid already.
Didak - Popped up here and there to kick a goal but worked ferociously for the team.all day. Love him in the midfield.
I know iwe're only three rounds into the season but I have to say, with our form and depth, and newfound confidence, I'm excited! Bring on the Bummers!
